The Gayatri Mantra aims to illuminate the mind of those who say it, being ideal for connecting with your essence and focusing on yourself.
Gayatri is a Sanskrit term that can be translated into English as “victorious”.
As the Gayatri Mantra expands the knowledge of those who say it, you may find it easier to see situations clearly, to analyze your thoughts and to open your mind.
Gayatri is the name of one of the goddesses venerated in Hinduism, considered the Mother of the Vedas (religious writings from India). Thus, she is considered the holder of all knowledge about the world.
In general, the goddess appears sitting on a red lotus flower, a symbol of power and wealth. Therefore, the Gayatri Mantra also attracts prosperity. Although the text of the mantra is feminine, the message it conveys is also masculine.
The reason for this is that the Gayatri Mantra also makes reference to the male “Savitur”, which is the ray of perception and intelligence. As this ray is associated with the Sun, it is present everywhere and in all experiences, including the words of the mantra.
Thus, uniting the feminine aspect and the masculine aspect, the Gayatri Mantra presents a balance of Yin (feminine) and Yang (masculine) forces, being capable of transcending temporal knowledge through these two parts of a being. In other words, Gayatri Mantra is synonymous with balance, wisdom and knowledge.
