Well at least near the end Macaque began to wonder if he even did the right thing attacking the monks. Whenever people talk about Macaque and Wukongs fight, everyone conveniently forgets that the whole reason they fought in the first place was because Macaque was a sneaky little bastard that tried to take Wukong’s place in the group of companions and then tried to hurt/kill Tripataka/Tang Sanchang. And then they try to make Wukong the one in the wrong. I dislike that this fact is like, NEVER addressed in the LMK storyline. It’s just Macaque continuing to bring up Wukong leaving him when the dude did it because 1, a goddess told him to, and 2 so that he could become a better person.

You should have them react to the actual journey to the west in mythology and have them see the changes - the legends summarized series of journey to the west. The ones that caught my eye were when he killed the 6 eared macaque and attacking red son and basically murdering DBK whole bloodline 😊😅 as he also uses more abilities and Nezha isn’t exactly the same either.

Can I rant about how much I feel uncomfortable with the JTTW and how people make the relationship between Tripitaka and SWK far more caring than if should be. swk grew up with no one to teach him how to behave, so he took it upon himself to find the most efficient ways to protect himself and the others living on ffm. Yes he got carried away, but for the most part his goal was to keep his monkie friends safe. What Tripitaka does through the journey is do him mental and physical harm for doing what he has always done, the most efficient way.

I actually based some of this on the book! Specifically chapters 30-35 I think? I haven't finished it yet but I wanted to add stuff like that. Also it's shown in the book that tripitaka shows remorse for harming wukong as harming others goes directly against his religious views. Like in chapter 14, he says this: "Seeing the Great Sage groaning in pain, the Tang Monk was filled with pity and sympathy. 'My disciple,' he said, 'I had no idea that reciting the spell would cause you such agony. Please forgive me. I shall not recite it again unless there is no other choice.'"
