On International Peace Day, filmmakers Nour and Muhammad interviewed children in Gaza and asked them what peace means to them. The word 'peace' felt heavy to the children of Gaza. They took a deep breath to describe what it meant to them. They recalled the good times, their homes, family, school, food, clothes, friends, and playgrounds -- how these basic human rights have become distant dreams.
Children of Gaza have lost everything and suffer from loss and pain. Yet, they wake up every day holding onto the hope of returning home and being reunited with their friends once again.
Every child, regardless of their background, deserves to live in a world where their safety and basic human rights are upheld. No child should face violence. They should have access to clean water, nutritious food, and a safe place to call home. They have the right to healthcare and education. By protecting these rights, we not only safeguard their well-being but also invest in a brighter, more equitable future for all.
