Can't remember anything about 2, but wasn't George 4 the disgusting IRL ugly bastard who bankrupted the country by spending way too much on wine, prostitutes, and special sex furniture because he was too fat to fuck normally? In America we give George 3 the villain treatment, but he really wasn't that bad, mostly. The policies that led to us revolting were more the fault of acts of parliament he couldn't do too much about, and the actions of various ministers, bureaucrats, and officials rather than him. He was more than reasonable in dropping hostilities with America after the war, having normal trade with us, and not even trying one little bit of reconquest, just to be petty. When he wasn't being slightly crazy, he was seemingly running for World's Most Reasonable Monarch.

@SuperGingerBickies13 жыл бұрын
@stupidintellect90 ... then Ben would turn round and watch us struggle to compose ourselves. We would tell him about the Garibaldi biscuit and he'd quip: ' I thought Garibaldi plays for Chelsea!' He would be so impressed with our wit/cheek that he pays for our coffees and biscuits...

... George IV's marriage to Maria Fitzherbert was declared invalid - but, for the rest of George IV's life, he still regarded her as his true wife and loved her. The wife he could not stomach was Queen Caroline of Brunswick. Once married, they produced an heir and his debts were paid - so, as far as George IV was concerned, Caroline could bog off out of his sight... If George III interjected with: 'A WIDOWED CATHOLIC!?' instead, then the song would be factually accurate... Helpful?

@floridarocks567 Yes, it is confusing. I'll do my best to explain myself better... In the song, George IV sings that he only married Queen Caroline (because he was up to his neck in debt). @REDCARJAMES1 Born 2 Rule actually sounds a heck of a lot better for the factual 'tweaking', courtesy of the BBC Proms! I wish the HH team would do a further tweak with George IV's solo song ... from 'divorced Catholic' , which is erroneous. There is NO divorce in the Roman Catholic Church whatsoever. Maria Fitzerherbert, George IV's invalidated wife, was a twice 'widowed Catholic' . It is accurate and will still fit the song.
