Armorer and you forgot what a delta ring is? I guess there is a difference between the Army and the Marines :-)

I don't recall ever hearing the term and I've been out for over 10 years 😉

Actually it wasn't called delta ring, which came along later. On the 601, 602, 604 (Air Force XM16/M16) and 603 (Army XM16E1/M16A1) that ring is called a slip ring.
