That’s why this national enquiry is so important, they can suppeanour witness to the stand. They can actually give out jail sentences to all who covered this up. Where as local enquiries can’t do anything on the national scale, they just make recommendations and the perpetrators go free. I was born in Belfast in 73, my Dad was a Prison Officer in the Maze Prison for 42 years and then I served in the British Army for 13 years, so I feel like I have the credentials to call your nonsense out. On many occasions when I was in London during the late 80s, 90s and early to mid 2000s, I was either refused entry to pubs, clubs and restaurants or if I managed to gain entry, had been removed later in the evening if someone overheard my accent. Now the big difference between me and many others like me from that generation and people today, I was able to understand that the world did not revolve around me. I was refused entry or removed from places because they were terrified of a bomb killing them. The IRA or Loyalist groups never wore uniforms and so the only way of recognition was accent. The very first time it happened to me when I was 18, I was a bit annoyed and presented my British Army ID card thinking they would see I am not a terrorist, but it was my parents who explained to me the fear and that ID Cards were easy to replicate. I never once cried about it or felt victimised, I simply knew and could see from peoples faces that they were terrified. The first week I was going out with my now wife, we were stood on the Tube platform and I whispered to her, “Watch this” I raised my voice slightly so that those stood a few feet away from me could hear and said to my girlfriend, “Where are we off to next?” Within seconds a ring of people had formed around us, slowly edging further and further away. Actually on occasions when travelling in the underground, if we were being squashed and pushed about, she would often turn to me and say “Do that thing” just to give us breathing space, but I never did as I knew the reason was fear they moved. He sat there and shouted that lady down and then comes off with absolute nonsense like “When the IRA where at it, we couldn’t call all Irish the same” That might have been the party line, but believe me, when politicians were away from cameras or microphones, they all thought the same thing, in fact, given my job slightly later in my military career, I heard plenty of politicians say just that, perhaps a story for a different time. But please, can someone from GB News call this clowń out for talking about issues he clearly knows nothing about. I’d also like to just mention, regarding communities policing themselves in the grooming gang scandal, in N Ireland, monsters who wanted to do things to children, were much more frightened of the community getting wind of who they were and what they wanted to do than the police finding out.
