I argued that when the DWP took my carers allowance off me. Just as my mother needed more help and I was getting older and weaker too, plus our income went down at the same time. When I questioned it, I was told the Carers Alowance and State Pension are crossover benefits and you can't have both. I had kept my mum out of the care system since I was a kid of 12, saving the nation hundreds of thousands of pounds, but only had Carers allowance for six years. I got no notice of my pension being delayed from age 60 to 66, got no notice that I was eligible for carers allowance until I was 59, have had a matter of weeks notice that I won't get a heating allowance from this year on because I have £3 a week to much income to claim pension credit. How are we supposed to plan for our future when we get no notice over governmental ( note the last five letters!) changes.
