I'm a single pensioner.. my entire income is £11:502 a year.. I worked all my life till I was 66 years old.. I get the new state pension.. £221 a week.. I am £3 over the threshold for pension credit.. I cannot claim a penny. No private pension.. 😢

I do get a council tax reduction , so only pay around £120 .00 a year , and my Housing benefit does not pay full rent on my Housing Association 1 bed flat , so i have to top it up at £ 50.00 month .What is left pays my gas / electric , water rates ,internet and basic mobile phone . It is hard but i manage .

I’m not British, but it seemed like the perfect storm to me. Far, far too many people didn’t vote because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote the Conservatives back in, Those same people couldn’t vote labour because of the, lurch to the woke left which has occurred over the last decade or they have never voted labour before. Reform really was a bit of an unknown quantity so many likely took a wait and see stance. The easiest thing to do was not vote at all.

This affects every pensioner within the UK. It does not recognise colour or religion we all grow old. It is up to the younger generation to stand up for their grandparents and parents. For what comes around will go around. What happens carries on and on as the younger become old or end up with ill health. What will they do to those who have decided this great abuse of the pensioners? Some of the older generations may outlive the ones in Government who knows? We do not know their health.

So the means testing forms for claiming pension credit are 24 pages long and contain 239 questions.....What pensioner living on their own and with a touch of dementia is going to fill that in....The main point is that pensioners have been receiving this allowance for a very long time now and as such it has become part of their annual income....
