This guy knows exactly what he's doing. He jumps to the well-learned line about what they want. Their demands. It's like they're doing emergency services a favour by showing them the "quickest" way around the problem they themselves are causing. It isn't actually the quickest route though, is it? What about that ambulance that gets stuck in a tailback? What about that ambulance with the emergency medic rushing to a heart attack victim or the traffic accident that has to take a route that may be 2 or 3 miles longer? I could go on all day. These people see us as acceptable casualties in their little rebellion. They don't really care if someone dies because they're so convinced they're right that we're seen as acceptable collateral damage.
