How to set up your 3d touch of probe. 3D touch probes are tools, which are useful for finding edges, centers, setting up work coordinate systems. The basic setup is really easy - just as any other digital input to the controller. In the video I show how to use such probe to find a hole center and then machine it further with a boring head.

@@danielkandela Powiedziałbym, że słuszna uwaga, aczkolwiek z każdym kolejnym projektem mam wrażenie, że konstruowanie maszyn jest coraz trudniejsze (z racji na to, że człowiek jest świadomy co raz to większej ilości rzeczy, na które trzeba zwrócić uwagę), haha!

You need to calibrate the 3D probe. With your CNC controller software, if the software supports it, and a calibrated ring with like 30mm ID. Or you need to dial in the tip with an indicator to make it run in the center. The probe should always in the same orientation as well when probing. Such a probe is really nice to find centers of round things or even to take measurements for larger features you can’t reach with a caliper.

That was just for show-off purposes :) Wanted to test my new boring head. Also boring heads make almost perfect circles compared to CNC where it's a interpolation of points. But you're right - making a big hole with a cnc program but with some additional material to be removed with a boring head would work much better and more efficient :)

Hi! I was looking for an ethernet-based CNC controller and I found the AXBB-E. I was thinking about linuxcnc with the mesa card, but when I was making this machine it was more expensive than the AXBB-E. I find the UCCNC really good - much better than mach3, and much simplier compared to LinuxCNC. It is a fast controller, which covered all my needs with my mill. Now i'm building a CNC lathe and I'm going to stay with UCCNC but I got a UC300ETH (much more I/Os).
