Domingo 21 de 2020. Acabo de ver esta versión. Dice en el encabezamiento que es una transmisión en directo del 15-06-2020 pero en otro canal dice que es de 2018. No se entiende. Estoy en España, y he asistido mucho al querido Teatro Colón. En algunos aspectos hay mucha calidad, pero en otros.....hum!. Los papeles de Norma y Adalghisa, inmaculados. Muy bueno el subtitulado para el mundo de habla hispana. Tengo la suerte de amplificar la señal de audio, que me llega por fibra óptica, y resultó un deleite la calidad del audio, tanto por la orquesta como por el equilibrio con la voz de los cantantes. Detalles: en el vestido de Norma en el tercer acto aparecen manchas a la altura del pecho, que parecen moscas. Hay que tener en cuenta que la televisión muestra mucho. El personaje del líder, sentado en su silla, acusa en la frente las huellas de la goma de la peluca, feísimo!. Es tan evidente que es incomprensible un fallo como ése. Lamento mis objeciones pero casi me empañan la atención de la temática de la ópera.

@@juliogonzalezcampayo3201 Estimado Señor, sí, esa fué la razón por la cual busqué y encontré, la razón de mi interpretación de la fecha. Si Usted tiene a bien confirmarlo podrá observar al pié del cuadro de reproducción taxativa y confusamente: "2480 visualizaciones•Emitido en directo el 15 jun. 2020", de allí mi observación que se oponía a mi convicción que de que en plena pandemia no se habría celebrado tal evento. Gracias por su observación. Perdon no veo Ópera Visión ni todos los canales de KZbin. Saludos.

A genuine Italian dramatic coloratura as Norma! Anna Pirozzi takes us back to the days of Cerquetti, Mancini and De Osma. What a joy to hear the libretto beautifully pronounced and phrased. Some of her singing is a bit stiff, and I didn’t like all the ornaments in ah bello. Sediziose voci is a bit slow but appropriately authoritative with excellent diction and accento. Casta Diva very good with details in the text that don't always get attention. Pirozzi is fascinating at the fiercely difficult oh non tremare at 1:27:15. The high D at the end of the trio brings the house down (1:35:37) and she's superbly dramatic in the last act, the motherly Norma that has been betrayed (2:28:02). A lovely looking and convincingly innocent Adalgisa by Stroppa, who improves in the ensembles after a poor solo scene. Pollione is decent, and Oroveso even more so. They both look and play their parts well. A wonderful, classic production, as it should be! Thunderous reception of Pirozzi at 2:46:35 who seems genuinely moved.

@@luismontecinos8918 well... Suliotis retired from singing at around 33 years of age. She did record the mezzo role or roles in Il Trittico. This soprano at this writing is 48 and still singing extremely well.

She's a terrific Norma. Terrific piano high notes and strong throughout her range. I could ask for a little more chest voice from F above middle C and lower, otherwise absolutely wonderful

You probably don't recognise the role because you've only heard Sutherland sing it in awful touristic Italian. Tebaldi knew what she was talking about when she complained about Sutherland's recitativo. Listen to Anna Pirozzi and learn that there's a text too. 😂

@@Orfeus80 Norma has been sung by several Italian sopranos and they have made a "Normicidio", probably you have no idea what style is in singing, otherwise you would have to realize the "Normicide" that has been made of Bellini's Norma: Gina Cigna, Zinka Milanov (not Italian but also singing a Norma screaming and as if it were Cavalleria Rusticana), Maria Caniglia (of which there is no recording, but knowing how Caniglia sings we know that she would have done the same as Milanov), Antonietta Stella making a fool of herself in Rio de Janeiro in 1956 trying to sing "Norma" and had to stop the performances and not sing it anymore because of the embarrassing failure that she had ,and so more and more Italian sopranos. In the case of Anna Pirozzi, apart from not having the style, she is a "nondescript" singer, she sings everything the same, she says nothing and is vulgar. You are so primitive that you think that having a fluent Italian language means having more expression, you are very basic. You cannot capture the refinement and style that is in "Norma" Sutherland and at the same time the expression, Sutherland sings the exact expression that the Bellinian style demands.

Gina Cigna, Zinka Milanov (who was not Italian but sang Norma shouting and in a verista style as if it were Cavalleria Rusticana), Maria Caniglia of whom there is no recording but knowing how Caniglia sang we know that her Norma would be like Milanov's. Antonietta Stella who played the role of the foolf of herself, in Rio de Janeiro in 1956, having to stop the performance of her attempt in Norma, having an embarrassing failure. In the case of Anna Pirozzi, she sings all the operas the same, and she is a nonescript singer and despite the fact that she speaks fluent Italian because she is Italian, when she sings she has no intention in the words, and besides she is vulgar. You are very primitive, you think that because she is Italian that gives more weight to the interpretation of an Italian opera, it is not like that in all cases. You have no sense of the aesthetics of what is refined and what is vulgar Joan Sutherland has the right expression of the Bellinian style and is the only one
