That's a Japanese company, that's usually how they do stuff

Because Bandai is a Japanese company and not many people in Japan are fluent enough in English to also voice act. This is why they used AI. Sure they could have hired some English voice actors, but money is money and companies don't like spending.

Might not happen since it's Bandai and alot of their other TCGs don't have digital versions. But if the game is popular enough, we might get unofficial online versions like people did with the One Piece TCG.

I know AI voices are everywhere these days, but I think those might actually just be the two people in the Japanese office who are the least bad at English. An AI would have probably not have pronounced all the Gundam series terms in the official ways.

So are Link Requirements just a Unit's {Personal Pilot}, or does it requires matching faction [traits]?

For grunts it's just the trait; for ace mobile suits with known pilots it will ask for that specific pilot

@@cybobb That is, if they have link requirements at all. GM and Ball can't be linked no matter what pilot you give them. In the future, I definitely expect units with non-faction trait requirements like Newtype.

I really hope we'll get a digital version at some point. I love card games but I've always found going to card game stores to play with other players awkward. I'm a big black guy so people always see me as an outsider and either get all awkward because they think I'm a normie or they feel like they have to sound black when talking to me. It really doesnt help that im introverted too so when people talk to me like im a rapper and expect me to answer like the funny black guy in a sitcom it just get awkward because I don't know how to answer and they end up thinking I'm not answering because I don't find them cool enough or something. It's just not fun so I'd rather just play the game without dealing with human interaction.

hop;ing someone gets at least the base set into tabletop simulator to download and play. if ppl dont know: tabletop sim got steam workshop with ppl making various board and card games in it to play with others. so alot of ppl use that to play magic, yugioh, and such on draft plays with mods in tts able to generate boosters from sets to draft and play. base game is 20 bucks or half off when on sale and can run decently well even on low spec pc/laptops.

That seems to be Bandai's base rule set, Digimon is auras on auras. Makes it easy to learn if you've played any of the others, at least, kinda like WoD RPGs. I'm kinda curious to see how far it can be bent for other properties.

inb4 if this gets played enough i can imagine a person comes up to join a group to play, they ask what type of deck running, person mains iron blooded, seed and wing aka the toonami deck. group hesitate sand go the yplay a house format called U.C scenarios, so decks is only made up of U.C only mobile suits and characters.

The official release is next year. The only product released so far has been the beta edition which I believe was only sold online and was limited. The actual release will have proper starter decks and card packs.
