Really good series from you Elpern! You do have an entertaining style to your play as well. I really thought you had it there when you pushed in and tried to block the t34-76 with you Puma. If not for the phase-through, the t34 dies in 5-10 seconds and you are in a position to close the game by destroying the AT gun as well for almost no losses. You might even have been able to keep the Puma from the position you had there, at least in my estimation. I thought that was a very well planned and executed attack, and you were unlucky there. From that point on, of course Luvnest plays a very tight game, and makes it extremely difficult for you. GG WP to all the players in the finals I would say. And thank you to everyone involved for making such good entertainment for us plebs that are better at watching than actually playing the game.

Great game. I can’t help think the double Zis just does too much. They penned the command panther nearly every shot, even with vet at max range. Yet the Jagt bounces twice vs the IS2. It’s just a shame. Well done very the finalist getting this far and putting in their all to reach a game 5
@atomicgandhi87182 жыл бұрын
The pen values of AT guns and tank destroyers, and armour of Heavies like the panther and IS2 are nearly identical. Its really just a luck thing. The only outlier is the USF AT gun, which has below average Pen when not using its AP rounds ability.

Classic AE: "A few days later, I discovered, I had muted the casting". *Awesome event, from planning to execution - great to see everyone* - like e.g. 'Helping Hans' and 'Tightrope' - *in the same room* . I did miss 'Von Ivan' and e.g. 'Stormless' and 'DevM' from previous events, covering the entire history of the community. Moving _forward_ , one thing, that can be polished within the already _thoughtful_ setup - although e.g. 'Orangepest' and 'Luvnest' had improvised to that end when they took the casting seats - is _accurate, comprehensive post-game analysis that makes average viewers think: _"Huh_ ..." kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3aTmWmGqpuna9U (maybe, it could be linked to separate, _edited_ videos, not to spoil the mood - and if womanfolk are equal, one could have some make sense of what they see...) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKTRcpxnp7N1rKM I'd expected 'Elpern' to pick the 'Special Operations' commander in order to blind 'Luvnest' - who had _ideal_ faction and commander choice (including 'Radio Intercept', _knowing_ the opposing army composition) but who _depends_ on the tactical map - with *'Radio Silence'* ... and he did. Loved to see a *tank hunter deployment* as well - alas, the lack of reconaissance in the lumber yard by 'Elpern' suited 'Luvnest', hogging resources and points around the grave yard _like a beaver, flooding a valley_ . kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3SrYWd5nb59aZY

I remember reading someone's comment on stream about how the game ended when Elpern bought the Mech HQ instead of Battlegroup.
@felixyuen82252 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say cos even tho you lose a lot of fuel and muni going the Mech HQ route, Puma prevented m5/T70 mid-game dominance and allowed the Volks to do well against Cons before 7-man Cons came online. It was the primary reason Elpern had such a dominant grasp of the mid-game.
@samwu18362 жыл бұрын
@@felixyuen8225 I disagree. His early mid was hardly dominant. The Puma killed barely any infantry, post-nerf it's useless as a scout car and Luvnest knew that he just needed snares and ZiS to end that thing.
@felixyuen82252 жыл бұрын
@@samwu1836 I don't know what you were watching man. In the mid-game, between LV timing to first medium tank, Elpern won VPs by 160-13. In the mid-game, Elpern was averaging +32 fuel, Luvnest around +23 fuel. T34-85 came out only 30 seconds faster than P4 + Puma, which shows that Luvnest was at least 80 to 90 fuel slower by the 18 min mark because OKW tech costs are higher + Puma costs 70. If you trade evenly in the mid-game after going Puma, the P4 will come out slower than T34-85 by more than 3 minutes, minimum. The resource control and VP control was very dominant for Elpern in the mid-game, unless you somehow think dominance means 500-0 win with the map 100% red.

@AECoH Great series, great players. Do a last showdown event where 'Community Balance Team' members square off against actual top players of the game in a new event called: "The Team with Special Needs versus the Dream Team". We could use some answers as to why the game went from bad to worse after 5 years of 'balance'.
@devin71612 жыл бұрын
What would be the point of this? Of course world class players would beat the balance team. They do totally different jobs. Almost any group of active Premier league players could crush any group premier league manager easily in a football match. But no one would say the players know more then the managers. The balance team isn’t perfect, messes up and is partially done by volunteers. I think they do a good job representing themselves.

Great effort from Elpern. I think that once they went Mech instead of Battlegroup (I think a mistake but~) he should have went a luchs as well as that puma. Alternately just a luchs instead of a Puma, but Elpern couldn't have known that Luvnest was not getting a T-70 or a Quad. He needed to use the long time in the game where he had LV and Luvnest didnt to gain a big advantage. Risky to use so much fuel on early vehicles, yes. But as the game goes on Soviets are just too strong for OKW, so risk was necessary.
@felixyuen82252 жыл бұрын
As observers, we have perfect knowledge, so we can see that Luvnest chose Armoured Assault. But Elpern didn't know his Puma was getting radio-intercepted by the commander ability. Luvnest's commander choice gave him the perfect advantage in this case, so he skipped T70/M5 not through his own plan, but as a reaction. You can also view the midgame through the lens of Soviets losing their traditional midgame power spike of T70/Quad, so going Mechanised wasn't a bad choice. But I do agree that Luchs would have added much needed bleed and pressure.
@LagTheKiller2 жыл бұрын
So unfortunate with the puma. Who could have thought Soviets will skip t70? Killing blow by your own unit. Also 5+ squad weapons begs for walking stuka even if it's one click dumb wiper.
