Quick question regarding the closed system. Say a mobile 'phone is inside a sealed jar, which is sat on top of a wireless charger. If the 'phone started charging, would this count as energy being transferred into the closed system? Or would it not charge?

Ok but you never go to the third step in any of these. If energy never goes away I disagree. You charge the phone the battery then uses energy to light screen, make sound, throws off heat. What then does the sound energy convert to? How about the lighted screen? Eventually the battery runs out of energy can that sound or light be recouped?

I assume the answer would be due to the conservation of energy principle which states energy cannot be destroyed or created, it can only be transferred.

Hi - the total amount of energy should increase or decrease, it can only change between different forms and objects :)

If a phone gives off light energy, and you place it in a jar. That light still makes it to your eyes. Beyond the jar. Likewise, any heat would heat the glass and radiate out. So how's that closed?
