Quick question regarding the closed system. Say a mobile 'phone is inside a sealed jar, which is sat on top of a wireless charger. If the 'phone started charging, would this count as energy being transferred into the closed system? Or would it not charge?
@esahb95674 жыл бұрын
If you can transfer energy into the system like through wireless charging then it’s not closed

Ok but you never go to the third step in any of these. If energy never goes away I disagree. You charge the phone the battery then uses energy to light screen, make sound, throws off heat. What then does the sound energy convert to? How about the lighted screen? Eventually the battery runs out of energy can that sound or light be recouped?

if we can't make new energy, than what about the mitochondria of living cells? They produce energy

We’ll technically they release energy via a chemical reaction, rather than just making new energy out of nothing 👍

Hi sir , I need to ask you whether the videos you are making labelled “ GCSE physics “ are for separate or combined science , as you don’t mention that in your videos?
@Cognitoedu2 жыл бұрын
They’re good for separate. If you’re doing combined you won’t need every video :)

Can someone help me with this question? Why is energy conserved from each energy transfer in Q5-7?
@misterbk1791 Жыл бұрын
I assume the answer would be due to the conservation of energy principle which states energy cannot be destroyed or created, it can only be transferred.

wait, what do they mean by the overall energy of the closed system doesn't ever change???!!

Hi - the total amount of energy should increase or decrease, it can only change between different forms and objects :)

If a phone gives off light energy, and you place it in a jar. That light still makes it to your eyes. Beyond the jar. Likewise, any heat would heat the glass and radiate out. So how's that closed?
