thank u for this! I wanted to ask, what happens to the pressure if volume is the same? what effect would this have on the gas particles?? for eg, if more air was pumped in a tyre?
@Freesciencelessons7 жыл бұрын
If more air is pumped into a tyre but the volume is kept the same, then the pressure will increase and the particles will be closer together.

Sir I have a question: do convection currents happen more frequently when heating is increased
@Ewok-gf7sz2 жыл бұрын
Yes but only if the cooling is proportional and you’re not boiling it

I have a question related to energy stores, between kinetic energy stores and thermal energy stores, when talking about paticle motion in gases, when you increase the temprature of a gas via heating, is energy transfered to the thermal energy store of the gas which hence is then transfered into the kinetic energy store of the particles or is it directly transfered to the kinetic energy store of the gas? The reason i ask this is because within conduction and more importantly convection, the text book clearly states that when heating a system or gas, the energy is transfered to the thermal energy store of the gas/ object. Which is then shared between the kinetic energy store of the particles, however when talking about pressure increasing/decreasing no where does it state within the textbook that energy is transfered to the thermal energy store of the gas, but instead when heated up, energy is directly transfered to the kinetic energy store of the particles.
@fireemperorzuko87564 жыл бұрын
Energy stores are shared between thermal and kinetic energy stores, when thermal energy is transferred to a substance its the kinetic energy stores which change the state of matter, so I'm guessing I could be wrong but I think that during a substances change of matter there is no thermal energy stores as it's transferred straight to kinetic energy stores to break intermolecular forces, but usually it's shared between them.
@bossman69bossman323 жыл бұрын
I guess increasing the temperature transfers energy to the thermal energy store of the particles and so the particles have a higher kinetic energy
@bossman69bossman322 жыл бұрын
actually u would say kinetic energy, sorry for the late response
