If it's an older engine do NOT take the muffler off unless you absolutely have too because the bolts break off and then you spend a bunch of time drilling extracting and tapping the threads.

That "Simple tapping", bashing of the crankshaft at 14:22, could that affect the ball/roller bearings on the crankshaft or put some indentation on the inner or outer race?

@jeremy yep, I'm looking at the Honda manual and you are right it says to tap the end of the puller.
