can confirm Proton 7 works flawlessly, even MHv7 and BetterEdit work using Arch Linux, linux-zen, NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, Intel Core i5 8400

Are you still using Linux from Scratch?

Besides needing Windows to use VR (Meta is sadge), I still use and daily drive LFS! Me and LFS are inseparable, rightfully get called autistic and they're damn right, I am! You know Heimskyr or whatever his name is from Skyrim in Whiterun? He yells and preaches about Talos, exclaiming " *I LOVE YOU!* " That's basically me with LFS LOL!

@@zeckma I'm going to do LFS someday, maybe in dual boot with Gentoo because I still want a "normal" system.

how tf did you get Steam running on LFS
@zeckma Жыл бұрын
A whole lot of black magic! Seriously, though, may make a tutorial soon. Basically, you have to follow the multilib branch of LFS and follow its principles for BLFS, get Xorg working (at least in my case) which required libglvnd and NVIDIA runfiles, get ALSA and Pulse/Pipewire working, download vulkan headers, libvulkan, and vulkan loader, and other stuff, crossing out each dependency that appears on the arch steam package as it lists its dependencies. There are a few hiccups I encountered which I addressed in my Steam + LFS troubleshoot thingy video.

That's more subjective than you think. For me, it's a paradise. For others, it is unusable. To me, Windows is unusuable and I can't go back.

Linux is honestly pretty amazing these days. Gaming works waaaay better than just a few years ago, and the experience is often better than windows. Biggest downside is some incompatibility with certain hardware, but if you buy your stuff accordingly, Linux is very nice

@@zeckma Also an LFS user in the wild, that's pretty cool haha. I like my minimalist distros, but LFS is too far for me 😅 Anyways, good job on the completion!
