been messing around with 2.2 recently, and honestly it feels like working with a game engine at this point. I don't plan on making a very "long" level. just something I can put heart and effort into.

It looks really neat! It has a clear movement pattern, weak point and attack (the only thing that causes damage) so it wouldn't be a nightmare to fight like Stella Infection. I'm not a developer so this could be an unreasonable ask, but it looks the feel of the fight could be a bit smoother if the stomp-pad feet were scaled up a little, and had collision for the player to jump on for fun or off of for a clear path to the weak point to attack. Of course they would need to be knocked off after every step (like the big mech boss in Mario Odyssey), but I don't think that would look too weird to anybody.

how did you do the attack, health and backpack/inventory system? and for the boss how do you do the "ai"/attacks? sorry if its too much questions, but i really wanted to know

The enemy's ai has several different attack sequences, which utilize a custom sequence randomizer, along side using only 4 total group ids to move the body and feet. The animation is handled with area rotate, move, and regular rotate triggers. There's just very heavy use of most triggers in the game, mostly being spawn, collision, pickup, item compare, item edit, event, etc The players' health bar was done via the use of area fade. I might look into making a behind the scenes video on this, going over how the bosses animation and ai works, and how the player works as well.

(also rlly cool boss animation )

There's two backpacks, and the input of p1 determines which one shows with the use of event and toggle triggers

I wonder if you can use the 2nd player's controls to fire and change weapons. In any case, mega man zero bosses should be a better fit for now.

There's no natural regen. Im just using items from my inventory (also cause the fight wasn't designed with the air slash in mind. That came after this boss was finished.)
