GDevelop is becoming a great example of How to Create Great Products: Continuous improvements, taking customer feedback, focusing on user (developer) experience, and pricing (I think the pricing is good). Kudos to the entire team.

The new variable changes are really good, but it would be better if they had a small tag in the search field if a variable is global or not. Would make it a lot more convenient in larger projects.

I don't know about you guys, but I really appreciate this game engine. I still have a lot to learn, but you guys definitely inspire me to keep at it. Kudos to all the people that are doing things that I can barely understand as the maintain and improve the engine. When I get something to work the way I want it to, I feel so accomplished. I hope the Giants who let me stand on their shoulders will be proud of what I accomplish with their tools someday.

finally object folders, I have 4509 objects in my project to be organized, the regex in search still needs work for example: if you type "variable string" nothing will show up but if you type "variable text" it will show up, it disregards synonyms and not interchangeable even tho there's a lot "text" and "string" action and conditions that use it interchangeably.

I appreciate the variable update because the amount of variables I use is crazy. The naming of the conditions and actions is great too. It will help with a lot of things I want to get done. Gdevelop makes things a lot easier and yes, Auto save does save your life. It's always good to have a backup and the cloud save feature is God-send.

I'd really like something akin to Construct's Sprite Fonts, they're absolutely essential for pixel art games, and bitmap fonts are just way too finicky to work with... In Construct you just provide an image, set the grid coordinates, and provide the character set in order, easy! You can even do VWFs with some extra events, which is a bit more finicky than I'd like, but still perfectly workable...

If you want to use a programming language, we already support JavaScript blocks. There are currently no plans to add support for other languages.

I would like it to include other languages ​​soon, so I avoid going to another graphics engine like unreal, unity or godot. A few of those features are more commercial: I never liked Steam and its proprietary model, and DRM in general makes me cringe. But as long as GDevelop is always FOSS and you can release fully open-source projects with it, I can't truly complain about optional features that understandably require the team's server or support for common services that are a little proprietary.

The mobile app isn't free, it's a perk for those with a subscription, but it's free on desktop and on the web. And the engine doesn't publish your game files until you press publish. 👍 -Wesley

I'm not sure what sort of issue would cause that, but if you're having trouble with the latest version, you can always download one of the earlier versions of the engine. If you go to the patchnotes, then go to releases, you'll be able to scroll back and pick a different version to download at the bottom of each patch. 👍 -Wesley
