Good catch of the Thrash of ge locomotives In British that is what they call it. Also the Ge locomotives have a distinctive turbo sound.😀

They have to sound similar. Both are 4 stroke engines. Except the AlCo is 16 cylinder and the Evolution is 12.

yeah mostly for freight because there are still areas where electrification work is still in progress so taking an electric locomotive wont be a smart choice
