This video is why you cannot make decisions based on single KZbin reviews ...we have had a GE induction stovetop for a decade with no problems.

I've been using this exact same model for the past 8 years with absolutely no problem, however I once had a concern and I contacted GE and they sent me a little box that plugs in the rj45 connector on the bottom and it updates the BIOS, which most likely will solve your issue. They'll do this even if it's out of warranty.

The buzzing is caused by your crap cookware, not the cooktop. You also don’t take a cold pan to high heat immediately; that kind of heat change so quickly will further damage (warp) your crap cookware. start at lower heat until the pan warms evenly, then crank it up.

Probably an easy fix. Seen lots of happy users. Plan to buy one myself when I remodel the kitchen

Induction Compatible Pans are needed. Usually high end pans are already compatible!

"This WILL BE a problem." Exactly WHAT 'problems' have you had with this? We have been using a single unit for a few years now & plan to get a full induction cooktop to replace our gas cooktop. I cannot wait to get it.

The humming is because you're using the wrong kind of pots dude. LOL.

It'll hum in different tones regardless. It's not that loud and I don't find it annoying. In fact, it won't turn on if it doesn't pick up the magnetic field. So wrong pan = no noise.

Isn't it more likely a power issue? What amp circuit is it on? My electrician said it needs to be on 50amps.

I have one too, it's hooked up to 50 amps. It's been running great for 8 years and counting.
