+Aquib Khan when the piston goes to the right, in the left zone the air enters, in the right zone the air is compress. when the piston returns to the left compresses the left air. this it work thanks the valves. the valves in the right are closed when the piston goes to the right, and the same for left zone.

This video shows a simulation of a General Electric model 6HG/3-2 Reciprocating Compressor. Answer to your question is all kinds of compressors, as long as an appropriate driver is configured. Reciprocating Compressors; Centrifugal Compressors; Integral Compressors. The Reciprocating and Centrifugal have a separate, coupled driver such as a gas turbine, or piston engine, or electric motor. The Integral Compressor design is a "fusion" of the compressor with an engine; usually a reciprocating compressor and a diesel or gasoline or natural gas-fueled combustion piston engine as the driver. All of these configurations can be applied to offshore gas platforms; it will depend on which design is the best combination of economic operation and compression performance on the platform along with factors such as which fuel source is readily available, etc.
