GE Washing Machine Model GTW465ASNWW First Impressions and Thoughts

Here is the brand-new Harier-made GE washer and dryer set I bought. Switching from a Whirlpool VMW washer there are some things that I like, some others that I don't, and others which are the same. Overall while it may be one of the best new washers that you can buy aside from a Speed Queen, I ultimately think you still cannot beat the simplicity and reliability of old-school mechanical washers from the 2000s and prior.

Thank You for understanding how masses of transitioners have made the reputation of these He washers dubious. So many newer end-users mistakenly believe that all agitator washers are "meant to fill to the lid" with water. Nope, they are all manufactured in alignment with current DOE/EPA guidelines. So, if a top load washer is not labeled "commercial" á la Speed Queen, or SELECT GE, Maytag, and Whirlpool versions, then expect your washer to use far less water and need far more time with far better quality He detergent than before 2006.

I have 2010-2012 versions of Whirlpool style units (washer is a Roper, dryer is a Whirlpool) mine are in good shape with suspension rod repair done on the washer recently. If you are doing family level laundry maybe 10 years is a good run. I only do 3-4 loads per week so I'll get a long life out of mine I think
