"We have to take the bumboat out to vote. Usually, we will rent a boat out and it costs $36. So the total cost is $72 to go back to the mainland and vote."

What i love the most about Pulau Ubin is 2 years ago when i went OBS there.While camping at night, i looked up and saw billions of captivating stars, i saw something that i have never seen in the capital. It was my first time seeing real stars instead of the satellite and airplanes,very memorable.

That happened to me in Sabah when I went for my Kinabalu climb. I landed in Sabah airport at midnight and took a hire car to Kinabalu, 4 hours drive in absolute darkness. I lowered my windscreen and looked up. I saw galaxies in the sky. I was literally starstruck :)

I'm an officer there and i wish pulau ubin was taken care much more. I pray that they help the citizens here more and not make this place a resort. Ubin is the last few places in singapore that has a very strong history in our hearts.

Yes. But the truth remains that Singaporeans don't want to go there. Every Singaporean I have talk to speak of Pulau Ubin as a place that they have visited once in their lifetime and they are never going back again. Or they have never been to and has zero interest in going. I have gotten 2 groups to join me before. Both declared that they are not going back as "it is too tiring", "it is very dangerous" etc

The government always preach about providing to the poor/vulnerable but can’t even hold a booth in Pulau Ubin ?? Uncle needs to pay $72 but your dear LHL is the highest paid PM in the world. Some info for friends in Singapore I am a Malaysian One thing about Malaysia is that our SPR( Election Commision) opens booths even at remotest of places throughout the nation. There are hundreds of islands , jungle posts. And I must salute them for enabling Malaysians to vote

People pay so much for chicken rice nowadays just to take nice photos in cafes instead of appreciating hawker centres and the taste you get there. They will still have to go to a polling station. Last time is Pasir Ris (near to Loyang and Flora Road). Now is SUTD to prevent overcrowding. They may have to take bus service 2.
