Gealdýr - Eir

Eir, derived from the Old Norse words for “help,” “mercy,” or “protection,” is one of the major Goddesses of the Æsir. She is the Goddess of healing, a handmaid of Frigg, and one of the Valkyries of Odin. While her battle-sisters picked out the worthy warriors to become part of the Einherjar, Eir sought out those warriors to heal them back to life. She is associated with the sacred hill named Lyfjaberg. It is believed that she offers healing and restoration to those who seek her aid on this sacred hill.
