@@Heraldmakesapoopoo I was unfamiliar with anime and animation stuffs. So yeah, it took me a while to fully see animation changes. That's when I also went back and watch some previous fight scenes, I noticed some of them too. It's just that this was my very first one.

The bubble transition represents 'Meanwhile back at Sabaiody'. Sabaiody is the only island with the weird tree sap bubbles everywhere.

fun fact: from start to finish, this fight lasted 12.5 hours in universe, with only 2 real breaks inbetween: once for katakuri to eat donuts and again when luffy was recharging his haki. easily, luffy's longest and more grueling fight to date.

Snake man doesn't need anything to bounce off. If you remember culverin, one of the attack luffy used against doflamingo he was changing the direction of the attack midair. Luffy is in total control of his stretching only this time it is much faster that why it's called jet culverin. He for sure can use it anywhere, even midair.

I was thinking the same thing. Basically what I remember about snakeman is cuz his hand stretches far and bouncing around midair.. but then I realised he used the same move against doflamingo in his bounceman form as well.. so snakeman is basically a faster and more nimble form, right?

This episode showed how crazy Toei's animators are. Let's keep in mind that OP is a weekly anime. Seeing such fluid scenes with such polished lines is something that this arc brought back to the series and at the same time began the artistic peak 👊🔥 And changing the subject, it's incredibly satisfying to hear Katakuri's walk and the sound he makes when he activates his advanced observation haki 💯🔝

Katakuri is a menace, Luffy took one final bet and this dude adapted! And threw himself entirely for one last big attack disregarding future sight and everything to focus his entire being into an offensice blow because he knew it would end Luffy, however he also misjudged the strenght of a final attack from a cornered opponent, and cornered creatures bite hard!

It's really wild how much this episode adds onto the actual manga events. All the Rayleigh inserts, half of the Katakuri fight, everything with Pudding and Sanji, tons of the effects on Snakeman, in particular the initial transformation and King Cobra. And even with all that added content, they still managed to not make it clear that Python isn't bouncing off of surfaces, but Luffy is freely changing its direction mid-flight. He's not calculating angles, he's twisting his punch, essentially.

Correct!, During this particular fight luffy figured raw strength this time around wasn't doing much to someone who could literally counter his every move, not only that but do it better and deal even more damage to himself. So he figured why not increase my speed to counter the future sight..and it worked, plus he also got in some intense haki training himself during this and further developed some improvements in area's he lacks in.

I think Luffy already have Snake-man on his sleeve because the naming of strongest attack always with "King-(animal)" in it, and back to the time skip episode they said "Luffy already became the king of this island" the only attack he just got in the moment only "Tank-man" i think, since he training while starving so there's no way he got it from back then This is the most intense fight i ever watch in One Piece because the camera movement and choreography so fast i seriously focus to the screen the first time i watch this 🔥🔥

Snakeman is quicker , bounce man is stronger and one way to know is that luffy still screamed out in pain when their fist clashed compared to bounce man where that didnt happen

This animation is beautiful, but I personally think it had a severe issue with the final attack. King Cobra is a really cool attack, but the animation here focused purely on flashy details and not really on showing how it works. King Cobra uses the property of Snake Man where the attack gets faster every time it bounces. It bounces around Luffy 3 times to pick up extra speed, then goes towards the enemy. Midway through going towards the enemy, he inflates it with Bone Balloon, creating a giant fist moving at insane speed.

Luffy's attacks aren't physically bouncing. He is bouncing it off the air like sky walk, but with his fists to control the direction. He doesn't have to calculate anything since he can control where it goes.
