Luffy's power is so ridiculous, it spreads happiness all over the world. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing entire episode and even now. This is the best awakening. Gear 5 The true Power of Sun God Nika . Voice acting done in this episode is so so so goood. I cannot explain how good luffy's voice actor is.

how..? 🤣🤣 all it is is an extra 2 and a half minutes onto a 22 minute time slot that they already take a shit ton out of with a long ass op, recap, and next episode teaser. you dont even know what youre talking about. this was episode 181 out of a 149 chapter arc. i can guarantee you you can look at every anime youve ever watched and none of them have more episodes then chapters or are even close. nothing toei does is to help the pacing of this show and the chapter length seems to be everyone's argument. it doesnt even matter, they dont even cover a full chapter half the time and the amount of the episodes theyve only covered a half a chapter meanwhile flooding that episode with multiple sections of flash back that either werent in the manga at all or were a singular panel that got turned into a 12 minute ordeal. its bullshit and youre supportive of how bad theyve paced this anime. if you mean make the arc take even longer to finish than lol yeah its better, but thats not a good thing. cuz heres the thing, their gonna have to go on break after this arc regardless. this arc only has 13 chapter left until it closes, and theres only 45 chapters until the anime is caught up. considering oda has always taken far more breaks then the anime, around 2 a month the entirety of wano, and now that he just took a month break for eye surgery hes been taking a break every other week. so if youre hoping that they make this arc take forever in order to not have a break between arcs youre an idiot. what would really help the pacing is them going seasonal for the final saga consider most anime thats seasonal is covering 40 chapter per 12 episodes, they would at least be able to cover 2 chapters per episode for the most part and the animation that suffers being weekly which is everywhere thats not a main fight episode would be improved, the story would flow better because they wouldnt need to drag out every single flashback and filler moment they get to try and keep behind the manga, but this is the issue with the one piece community. they act like they need one piece every week or else theyll die and dont care how bad toei has it fucked up or that theyre using it as a cash grab. god forbid you get a whole set of well put together episodes every 4 months that actually make the anime not a unbearable to get through. no, youd rather them reshow you anime only flashbacks of shit youve saw over and over 50 times through out the entirety of 1081 episodes. why dont we start throwing anime only filler episodes in there too while were at it.

No, Nika has a rubber body, that is why Luffy's main powers are tied to rubber, but when awakened it completely enables the user to have the entire abilities of the Sun God Nika

Luffy's ability to turn his surroundings into rubber is due to his fruit's awakening (actually mentioned before in the manga), it allows the user to do basically anything it could think of. And the reason for him not being able to awaken it during Marineford is simply because he's not aware of it. Only a few DF users have been able to master their power and skill enough to awaken it. Plus, as you guys said, some things had to happen as he was not ready for it yet.

Luffy awakened the Gum Gum fruit to its full potential to attain Nika abilities of freedom... And be the warrior of Liberation... Similar to Joyboy 800 years ago. The themes of freedom, liberation, joy etc. it perfectly fits Luffy as a character, his personality, his goofiness all along (as Even luffy's fighting style is goofy from the beginning.. and Oda intended his main character's power to be funny.. that's the reason he gave Luffy Gomu Gomu no mi), and also the themes of freedom, liberation that Luffy stands for completely match with the warrior of liberation Sun God Nika - Joyboy... And putting a smile on everyone's face.... Absolute genius by Oda sensei...!! We should also remember that, it's not "strongest fruit power".. it's the "most ridiculous power" And the gorosei said that the fruit evaded them for more than 800 years and it is said that zoan fruits have their own will to choose their owner. So, may be that's why the fruit chose Luffy because it's purpose of freedom/liberation is so perfectly reflected in Luffy's personality. We don't know if shanks knew, but there must be a reason shanks went to east blue, Fushia village, taking the Nika fruit. The Sun God has been hinted at in the cultures of Skypiea, Fishmen island, impel down as a symbol of liberation, even though the name reveal is recent. He is the 'warrior of liberation' (just like Luffy) and it is his fruit.. Most probably Joyboy also had the same fruit... And awakened it then... Only after 800 years Luffy awakened it. And Luffy may not even realise it's a different power or it's an awakening... He mostly thinks it's next level of his gears... Hence, he called it gear 5. Luffy is not "God" but he has a devil fruit based on a deity "Nika", similar to the ex-fleet admiral Sengoku's Mythical zoan 'Buddha fruit'. And regarding the power, Gear 5 Nika form is the literal embodiment of true boundless freedom.... That is represented visually as looney toon, Tom and Jerry animation style (where imagination is the limit.. not the physics)... And Secondly His body and the surroundings also turn into Rubber... After this awakening... And the warrior of liberation is said to bring pure joy and laughter... Which is physically done by Gear 5 with the looney goofy effects... It has effect on the surroundings as well as people around... Kaido himself is loonified! Gear 5 changes everything, yet keeping the core of everything exactly the same by completely recontexualizes everything and explains stuff even better... and organically feeling like a natural progression of Luffy's previous Gears yet retaining the core aspect of Luffy's character...being silly, goofy, joyous, freedom and liberation ... Even while fighting, Parallelly embodying the themes of the series as a whole. Luffy's fighting style has always been goofy, silly (Gomu Gomu no water Luffy, tank man, and many other silly moves) and this Gear 5 took it to the next level... And the animator struck the exact balance between over-the-top goofiness of Luffy, funny, laughter, joy (of looney toons, Tom n Jerry 👀👀👀 ) and keeping it equally epic with the tone with drumsof liberation version of OVERTAKEN... !!!!! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Kudos to the animators ! Getting this balance right was way more difficult than it seems... and I was worried how it would turn out at some level, But they did it perfectly !!

Chopper just has the basic Human Human fruit, since he was a regular old reindeer when he ate it it made him a humanoid reindeer. I guess in reality he is always partially in hybrid form since he's never gone fully human but should be able to. His rumble balls allow him to mess with the nature of his devil fruit power to use the different points though he seems to have forgotten about 90% of them after the timeskip.
