I was attending a Roadshow and asked Cody a question that I think most everyone would have just known (about that black tape on his .5), and with sincerity he answered the question without pause. It was explained how it dampens noises. I'm watching every minute of every vid because of his easy demeanor with newbie mobile hunters. Lots of ideas I will consider in this vid. I think Cody should talk to his Vortex contact and suggest making a monocular as many could use the space...

I appreciate the kind words, brother! Its crazy that you mention the monocular... I actually tested one that Vortex made last season. My initial thought was just like yours, lighter, smaller profile, etc. It seemed great on paper, but when I put them to the test in the field I found it was a lot harder to get used to than i thought. Something about it just didn't ever get smooth for me so i set them aside and went back to the the small binos. It could definitely be a great option to try, though; some people may love them.

First, any chance for a restock on the H1’s? Thanks for sharing, it’s nice to see a minimalist setup that’s been so effective. Compact binos have come a long ways, I still have a pair of 10x42’s for wide open spaces but 90% of my season is a pair of 8x30’s.

I used to run a plastic bottle of water + wet wipes in my kill kit to do a rough clean out in the field after dressing my deer. I added gloves and took out the bottle of water after I got home this year. I'd rather be called a sissy or whatever and not have to scrape deer blood from underneath my fingernails. My only concern is grip on the knife wearing the plastic glove but I think it won't be too big of an issue.

Insta360 gimbal on the pocket arm is a killer setup for phone filming. It makes having the arm level so much less critical and fidgety. Gives you smooth motion with one finger zoom and pan, helps minimize movement. Also acts as a battery backup for your phone in a pinch. Check out my hunt from last year filmed with that setup.
