6:22 the shot and bullseye and the nod and “it’s good” gave me a cackle. Bad ass shooting! Love it! Hopefully I can get that good someday. Slowly piecing together my first bits to make my own bow. I’ll be there eventually! Thanks for the awesome content Master Sensei Gill!

Hey Ryan! I just want to say thank you so much for all your incredible content. I absolutely love sciences like anthropology, and your channel inspired to learn how to knap and craft my own survival tools at home. You seem like a very nice person and amazing educator, thank you so much for all you do!

Not so wonderful here in AZ, we haven't had rain in well over 100 days. Many waterholes will be dry. You're probably seeing some pretty cold mornings. Wishing you success.

I have never seen such a large minimalist pack! I do the same thing, but without calling myself a minimalist. I like to be forgettable. I do hope you enjoy the hunt.

The rattlesnake backed bow reminds me of my late friend Joe Dabill. He made a few bows this way.

Always love the over the shoulder shots. Awsm mini arrow build skit .would enjoy to see how you make your arrows commercial version. And do you spray or lacquer your arrows after you paint them?

Are you friends with the Ranch Fairy? Primitive vs Advanced. 🤝
@rond53238 күн бұрын
Ironic, how advanced is the electronic gear you need to carry to explain such primitive hunting gear; thanks to showing us how feasible is that very old tech which, requires almost no retail sector, and especially no long lines of supply! But we hope the those long supply lines keep functioning and the fabulous choice of technologies remain available; or we may need to learn to make lots and lots of stuff for ourselves - or do without most of it - AND THRIVE! 😊

I have a question. First I love your channel. Although I don't hurt primitive but I have been hurting Artifacts since 1968. Of course I do find really nice whole projectile point but for every whole point I find I'll find four or five broken ones. And most seem to be old brakes. With your experience how many shots while hunting you get out of a head before it breaks? Thanks, David
@huntprimitive99183 күн бұрын
Normally just one shot but a few can get multiple shots. If you are primarily hunting for points around camp sites or settlements then you are likely finding back halves of points that were shot and broken on the hunt, then brought back while still attached to the arrow or spear, removed and discarded later at camp. Point tips broken in camp areas are usually broken during manufacture.

What do you use for the shafts? I met an older gent that used wild rose stems.

Where do you get all the feathers for the arrows you make? I’m a new bow maker and I can never figure out where people get all the feathers for their arrows and because there isn’t any turkey’s around where I live I’m kinda stuck.
@huntprimitive99186 күн бұрын
Just be creative in getting feathers. You can certainly order feathers, or maybe you have geese around. geese make great fletching too. Buy, trade, shoot, find... crow, geese, ducks, pheasants, turkey... I have faith you can problem solve it out just as primitive man did.
@Fin-x4l6 күн бұрын
@ thank you so much for responding, sadly geese and crow feathers are illegal to pick up and keep. but I’ll try the other methods to get feathers. Luckily I have chickens so I’ll walk around and see if I can find any feathers. again thank you for responding and have a good day!

Another very interesting video fella, my one concern is how you'll get the pack basket through the plane destruction test what with them managing to break pvc pipe. Some sort of barrel maybe?

As a longtime subscriber to this channel, I should probably remember or know that already, but: are you an intuitive shooter, or do you have some aiming system? Great shooting, by the way! Always good content on this channel.
