Very good stuff man! been looking for a clear, direct tutorial vid like yours for HOURS! now roll up the sleeves, im gonna set up my mpc2000xl as the main sequencer in my studio like you do with your mpc1000! hope it works

Hi there! I use a translator Could you enable automatic translation? thank you greetings from Argntina

Great Channel!

Thank you. I tried to enable translation, but the only option I saw was to "allow community contributions". I think the algorithm is confused about the audio and it cannot auto-generate the captions in english, so there is nothing to translate. I will type in captions in the future if I get time.

Hi, thanks for the video on this. Could you explain further your MIDI routing? In particular I'm not clear on sending MIDI back to the MPC
@fabbrismidnight4 жыл бұрын
MPC has two midi ins (A/B) and outs (A/B). I use my "controller" keyboard to play notes when I record. That keyboard's MIDI out goes into the MPC's MIDI in. Any instruments that receive MIDI from the MPC and play sounds according to its sequence are connected to the MIDI out of the MPC. You can have the same keyboard both on the MIDI in and out, but you need to be careful for MIDI loops. You can temporarily disable MIDI input to your keyboard or output from MPC as needed to break any MIDI loops.

how do you sync the novation circuit with your mpc?
@fabbrismidnight6 жыл бұрын
Midi out port on MPC is connected to midi in on the Novation Circuit. I actually run a Quadra Through on the output of the MPC which makes 4 copies of the MIDI out of the MPC, so I can sync / sequence four different synths off one of the MPC MIDI out ports. The MPC MIDI settings are covered here. The Novation Circuit MIDI settings are accessed by powering on and holding Shift as shown here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoq5aHqnbdaFd9E and covered in the Circuit documentation as well.

alright thanks for your answer. i dont got a circuit at home but i was curious about using another drum machine with the mpc

wow. learned something new about midi for my MPC. But you need to get JJOS for your MPC.

cool. i'm running the latest free version but not sure i know all its shortcuts yet

Hi! I did not really understand, can I record chord stuff to midi track? I mean can I use midi track to play chords on external synth?
@fabbrismidnight4 жыл бұрын
Yes
@RichyCosa4 жыл бұрын
Do you need a certain box to do more than 2 synthesizer? I use 1a and 2b but want to add 2 more synths. Thanks
@fabbrismidnight4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I use a Quadra MIDI Thru box. Takes one MIDI output from the MPC and duplicates it 4 times so you can plug in 4 synths. Just assign them different midi channels. MIDI also supports daisy-chaining synths (mpc out -> Synth1 in, synth1 out -> synth 2 in, etc...) but not all synths have a MIDI out, and some introduce latency or jitter in the MIDI (notes) stream. So quadra thru is really nice.

Can i ask you some question regarding syncing . Im aiming to get my mpc 2500 as the master, running with ableton and my two synths via a kenton quad midi adapter and a Scarlett 2i4
@fabbrismidnight3 жыл бұрын
Sorry late reply. In my case Ableton was not good at following the midi master. I have to use Ableton as the master when I'm using it. You can try it out and see if it works. If not, I do Ableton -> MPC -> Kenton Quad => 4 synths

I can't get my volca keys and Fm to work. I can't sequence them.

Did you manage to get the Novation Circuit connected to the MPC? I can see the note value popping up on my MPC but no sound from the Circuit is being played in the MPC
@fabbrismidnight3 жыл бұрын
You can do it either way, MPC midi -> Circuit sounds or Circuit midi -> MPC samples. Make sure your input and output midi channels match and your tracks are assigned to the right ones and all that.
@kamranfallah5 жыл бұрын
can you have different channels for pre-saved samples? for example samples required for 10 different songs all saved?
@fabbrismidnight5 жыл бұрын
The mpc allows you to store and save as many programs (samples assigned to pads, e.g. "my 808 kit") and samples as your storage can handle. You could easily have multiple sets of samples for a bunch of different songs loaded at the same time.

@@fabbrismidnight what's the output ?can it plug into amplifier?
@fabbrismidnight5 жыл бұрын
@@kamranfallah yep it has regular instrument cable (1/4") jacks on it. you can output stereo, mono, plus 4 individual mono mixes which can be blended in the Mixer section.

Hmm... Would it be possible to sequence multiple sounds on one synth? (for example your ESQ or my TS12). Or does this only work with one synth per sequence/track?
@fabbrismidnight4 жыл бұрын
Yes, any instrument that can play multiple sounds at once with different MIDI channels set can do this. I often play multiple sounds at once on my ESQ. You use the Sequencer Track view to go and pick your set of patches (sounds) and assign them different MIDI channels. Then you make separate tracks on the sequencer (MPC) for each sound and MIDI channel.

hi. I have a question: I've sampled one bass sound and recorded it. but all the notes play the same length. when I change 'note Duration' on Mode + step/edit, it makes no difference to the recorded notes. some notes should sustain longer than others. do you know how to fix this?
@fabbrismidnight4 жыл бұрын
Is it the sample trigger "one-shot" mode you need to change? There are two modes IIRC, one that plays the sample to the end and one which stops playing the sound when the note turns off.
@brendodorset37204 жыл бұрын
@@fabbrismidnight I'm talking about the 'note duration'. i.e: sample notes recorded on a track, not the 'one-shot' mode. but I've managed to sort it out now. thanks anyway.
