GEAR WE USE 1 - Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket and Bib

In the "GEAR WE USE" serial we will present the equipment we will use for the ice climbing season 13/14.

I'm a huge fan of Arc'teryx gear but I really think they dropped the ball with the Alpha SV Bib. It's only available in a standard inseam length which for me is two inches (about 5 cm) too long. Equally disappointing is that it's only available in one color, an effeminate shade of sickly blue. A civilian climber would do well to wear a bright color for visibility while military snd law enforcement requires a subdued color. In neither case does the color "Heron" fill the bill.

The design on the leg wraps for the bib are pretty awful and the locking mechanism is bad, they pull-through all the time if you make them 'tight', hardly what you should expect from a £400 bib ...
