I had a question. Which is the axis, about which the moment of inertia is considered here? From whatever I have understood so far, it is the axis passing through middle pf cross sectional area of beam and is in the middle of the body.. If this is correct then we should not consider the neutral axis,which is shown in books written as NA , that is placed on plane of cross sectional area and at it's middle .. Then it would be like, if thought theoretically the axis would be the intersection of neutral axis along the lengths of fibers of beam and the plane of cross section , and if thought conceptually the axis should be along the length of the fibers and in perpendicular plane of , plane of cross section. So can you please clear this confusion? 'Cause if the axis is changed the MI will too..
