Thanks Mark for the unboxing. These miniatures look fantastic but as a person who adores TMB, in fact my no. 1 game, for me this is utterly unnecessary add-on that is only for collectors, not gamers - added fiddlness is not worth it, especially that TMB looks gorgeous on the table with only chips.

I agree that they are totally unnecessary - they are so wonderfully ridiculously unnecessary. 😂 However, I don’t get your distinction between “collector” and “gamer” - we just have to be a bit mindful when we start pigeon-holing sectors of people. I’ve played TMB 100’s of times and I love these and will probably not play without them in the future - does that make me a collector or a gamer. It’s fine to not want them, most people who own TMB will probably end up NOT buying them. Also. If you don’t have all the Gearloc, then some of the miniatures will be of no use to you. However, for those that want to buy them - more power to your elbow - go and have fun.

Yeah, you are right about categorising stuff, I rather mean it from my point of view however when thinking about it closely it is sometimes hard to tell distinction - pop-up book for TMB can be only for collectors but you can also play it and have a great time. So this is part of a game or only Gadget for collectors? Hard choices 😅 so rather that that I am thinking whether it will make the game better, like in burncycle or just make the game prettier but it is not necessary to enhance your gameplay experience. Who I want to trick, I really really want it, it is just so expensive that I have to pass… but thanks for showing it for us, great video

Interesting, imagine if each gearloc chip had a small magnet embedded in it to secure them bronze minis on their chip. Then imagine if the baddie chips also had a small embedded magnet that allowed you to place small plastic baddies (with a small magnet in the base) on their chip. The life chips would have no magnets so the poker chip feel would be the same, but the baddie stacks would stay together because of the magnets and the playmat would be a 3D masterpiece. Just something to imagine….

Thanks for the unboxing! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on whether they are viable for use in a normal game, or if they are just something to put on your shelf. They look small enough to sit on top of a big chip stack, but I'm concerned they would interfere with Effect dice (e.g., Poison, Weaken, Dazed, etc.).

Hi, yes you very much do use them in the game - they are designed to sit on top of your character chip. Yep, you may have to find another way to track any condition dice (maybe use the Gearloc mat instead). 👍

I mean, there’s 23 brass miniatures and when you break it down it’s about $4.34/miniature which is pretty damn good value.
