I just took it in stride. Emotional people being driven by their anger and resentment are unlikeable, but it's understandable why they're acting that way, even if it doesn't justify it. Kait was going through the ringer with PTSD from the last games events, probably explains her behaviour. As for JD... Well, you know. Didn't deserve what he got imo.

In hindsight, after the woke lunatics butchered the storytelling for all other games since 2019....Gears 5 isnt so bad by comparison. I may not like Kait character development as much....but at least it made sense in the new chapter due to her lineage.

Hated this game. I love Tomb Raider, Metroid, and other games where you play as a female protagonist, but in Gears? Hell no. These games are all about big beastly guys being badass fighting monsters in sick armor. So making Kaite the focus plus her being some chosen, of coarse, really took the franchise off track. Hopefully in 6 they go back to basics
