Not a bad game by any means. 1 had the atmosphere; It felt like you were fighting a war that you could never win. 2 had the momentum; it was a colossal roller coaster that brought you face to face with the root of the problem, (not to mention it had the strongest scene in all of gears, the fate of Maria). 3 will always be remembered for the Death of Dom (Mad World played). 1 and 2 definitely had the better soundtracks. The style changed a lot with Gears 3, character designs included.

Gears of war probably had the best soundtracks out of all the games ive played. Just the sorrow and sadness that oozes from the musical tone, the impending doom feeling. So beautifully captured. I honestly think the music made up at least a third of the game in terms of atmosphere. Extremely well done cover!

A friend of mine got me to play it and I fell in love with it. The campaign is worth trying out (esp. GoW2 and GoW3), its storytelling (and music) is epic beyond proportions.
