Heard this when it first came out and randomly started thinking about it a few days ago. G-Eazy was so dope before blowing up and changing his music
@TheOnlyKontrol Жыл бұрын
I heard this the day it came out also…was still going to high school…good time but I 100% remember even at that time his fan base was conflicted 50/50 almost…he technically was “changing” even when this song came out and he was getting criticism even then on how he was getting more famous and changing his still. To me it all made sense at that time…I feel like some of these songs that he put out during that time is what made him blow up a few years later…everything from the beat/lyrics was just getting more marketable and he sounded hungry. I kinda stopped following g after when it’s dark out…and that was around the time I started growing up and realized most of the topics he was talking about didn’t really align with my mindset at the time but I still always had older songs to go back to like luvaholic…some deeper songs on These thins happen like opportunity costs so on…songs during that period like achievement,running..so on. End of the day I can’t really be mad at g-easy because at the end of the day he still has a whole lot of music that I go back to and gives me a certain feeling that most new songs won’t give.

It's truly insane. I remember being 17 years old working at Subway. Chilling with my boys, giving them free food, then heading out to random places at 10 PM after store close. We'd find ourselves at a random lake at 1 A.M, end up crashing at one of our parents places at 3 A.M., just to wake up around noon, and do it all again the next night. This version of G Eazy was always playing, regardless of the setting. I'd do anything to go back to that life for just one week.
@JarronRips3 ай бұрын
@@PackerManForLifebro this is so crazy that I just randomly remembered this song and started reading comments and I came across what you just said 5 days ago, back when I was 16-18, those days with the boys out doing crazy shit late at night and we ALWAYS was bumping this old G in the background. I love coming back to these old songs because it takes me back to those times that I would do anything to go back to for one night. I swear all the music we used to listen to back then gives you a feeling that only you and your boys know from back then. Crazy how life goes on and everyone grows their own ways.

This is quite possibly the greatest song by G-Eazy ever. Fried Rice, Blazing On A Sunny Afternoon, The Endless Summer, Waspy, and Why Thank You definitely come close, but something about this song is just.. unique and it's just is perfect from start to finish. Who cares if the beat isn't his. Hell.. Most of the songs from The Endless Summer aren't his beats but I consider that to be his best album. You haven't truly discovered G until you've heard this song. The lyrics to the beat to the flow to the fact that it blends all his styles is just perfect. Excellent song.
