I been collecting knives for years, but only recently, have I began to love slip joint / traditional knives. I like the red bone specimen you have here

GEC are foreign to me, so I enjoy hearing your thoughts on them. Thanks.

They're great knives, but also super hard to get ahold of. I think it's good to talk about the money side of things because so many people just have no idea. GECs are starting to get expensive enough where I'm wondering if they're worth it.

@@TheMartialist The Chinese have cottoned on to high quality, high intrinsic value slipjoints. Jack Wolf is one example, but there are others, without a middle man, for half the Jack Wolf prices and less. It's going to be interesting to see what effect it has on the market. I feel it will have some effect, but wouldn't know what. Affordable, high quality slipjoints for me, obviously.

I think your observations about price are spot-on. In the cold light of day $200 is surely a lot to justify for a factory-produced carbon steel traditional slipjoint, albeit very nicely made. Something about 'em though...

A lot of is just like tulip mania , back in the day. Then again, what makes something desirable is often times much more complex than functionality.

I’d like a single blade version of this knife. Maybe in the future they’ll make one.

Some thing about it just not doing it for me. I wouldnt pay more than 150 for it.

It is pricey for what you're getting. I figured if I ended up not liking it, I could always sell it.

I like some GEC patterns but getting everyone I would not want to do. Chasing after them is another craze I see people do that I am not willing to do. Buying one just for getting one seems people do it because it is a GEC brand makes no sense to me. I don't believe that they are that much better than claimed to be either. If you want one buy it, that is up to you.🙂

wish it was a single blade, woulda also been much easier to open. slimness is what i need in a knife that im actually gonna carry. woulda also preferred a nail nick like a mini esky. maybe put a barlow bolster on it and ebony handles.

It's a nice knife, but it's weird to me how many people shit on the muskrat runs who are now going wild over this piece of cutlery.
@ethanwalker78652 жыл бұрын
@@TheMartialist muskrat would be sick on the 39 like a mini stallion, althought that muskrat has a notably different profile. however I am glad that this frame unlocks the possibility for mini eskys and mini stallions. I think they would be slam dunks.
