Great video! Which would you say is more calm or less jumpy when handled? Crested or Gargoyle?

Thank you and great question. So in my experience they are very similar. Crested and gargoyle babies are usually the most jumpy. If they are used to being handled they should mellow out once they reach adulthood. If I had to pick probably Gargoyles are slightly less jumpy

Crested's can climb glass, gargoyles cannot. Gargoyles can regrow their tails, cresteds cannot. Gargoyles average about 10 grams larger, but also cost more

What shelving and what tubs do you use for the babies?

The shelving in this video is melamine and the baby tubs are the standard shoebox plastic 6 quart (5.7L) you find at Walmart. The new shelving I use is PVC. More expensive but more mold resistant and should last longer

Stable temperature but crested geckos do not require heat. Room temp is perfect for these guys

Guardians Of The Geckos I know room temperature it preferred but I can’t always keep it like that in my house, it can often drop in the winter and rise in the summer. Do you have any tips on how to balance this problem?

If dipping too cool is the problem I would ad a portable temp controlled heater as well as a humidifier plus a small fan for air circulation. This is what we use in the cooler months and the humidifier and fan year round.

??? What Phantom Gene? I thought those were called buckskins and this gets more confusing every year I try to look you guys up first the fire flame now it's called blushing in the fire flame is the pattern Harlequin carries through the sides tigers do the same but different blabbity blah blah blah man. You professionals should get together at one of these reptile meets and go through the crested gecko morphs so you can quit confusing all of my customers and me

Paul Heyn I know it sucks man. The thing is with crested geckos it's totally different from let's say ball pythons. You can breed 2 geckos together to hopefully improve a certain color or "morph" but it's still a bit of a dice roll because of the way crestie genes work. Also this species has blown up so hard the last few years. Everyone and their mom is a "crestie breeder" coming up with names to seem exclusive or high priced. So in reality just find a gecko or color you like then try and find one somewhere lol and for the record 'phantom' in cresteds means that the eye and iris are solid black. So far the ones with all black eyes just happen to look patternless or solid. No one knows what they're talking about haha ok rant over.
