As a person that only finished 1st grade and then only started 2nd grade,I need all the help I can get. I just passed science and social studies. In a few hours I have language arts and math. I feel okay about language arts. But math, I feel very uneasy. I have so much anxiety 😫 and I haven't had a real meal in two days because of the stress of these last two tests. I need this ged to do the work I love the most. In the state I'm from, I didn't need a ged to do the job I did as a school bus driver. But in the state I now live in they require it! I just want to get back to work and feel the confidence that anyone can go from 2 days of second grade to finishing school at 25 years old.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter! That said, you need to see what test your state offers. All of the tests will give you either a diploma or a high school equivalency certificate (again, it depends on your state).

I still don't understand the last one. I got 20 at the first because of the 4x5 is 20. But if 2x2 = 4 and 4 goes into 20 5 times, how does that still make sense? Wouldn't it make more since to ignore the 4 because then I'm automatically thinking 25

While you are correct is saying that the proportion of the front page is 4/20, we need to create an equivalent fraction over 100, since percent (per-cent) means out of 100. (Think of the cents in $1. There's 100!) So that equivalent fraction of 4/20 would be equal to 20/100, which is 20%

It is hard for me to explain via the chat box; however, I made a more in-depth math video that I recommend that you watch.

What I believe she meant was 4 going into 20 is 20% not 4 going into 20, 20 times. 4÷20= .2 which equals 20 percent. The whole square equaled 100 percent, so each square was 5%. The area they were asking about took up 4 squares, which equaled 20%. That's how my brain worked out the equation lol :) Hopefully that all made sense to you.

No worries; this means that you are not ready to take the GED math test. You are not alone, must people need to study math quite a bit before taking the exam. Hey Michelle (great name - lol!) You’re welcome. I’m glad that I am able to help you in this journey. The Kaplan book is good, but it might be more than you need since you were only one point off. I recommend taking as many practice tests as you can. I have another video that goes over even more math practice problems (it’s about 45ish minutes). I also recommend an online program called Essential Ed. Good luck! 🍀
