I took the GED math 2 weeks ago and failed bt 2 points ugh! Tomorrow i am attempting again. I just want to pass this and put it behind me! People say it is so easy but that is a lie... wish me well if you are reading this:)

I passed my last exam today!!!! It has been a long time coming. I'm so glad the day finally arrived 🙌 I just want to say thank 😊 for being the great teacher that you are. Congratulations to you...I have been half-heartedly trying to pass the math part for the past 2 yrs. Every time I take it I get closer to passing, but I feel even more confused. I hate it so much because I cannot seem to catch on. I am a few points away from passing and I am scheduled to take it again on the 24th. I am nervous and I thought to look up on KZbin to see if I can get some extra help and found this video and your comment. It's inspiring. I hope this can help. Thank you.

I missed by 4 points in the HiSet math. I found out HiSet uses a different calculator, they have us to use a TI-30XIIS instead. The calculator you're demontrating with is used for the GED.@@PurelyPersistent

Good luck tomorrow! You can do this!! Scientific notation is the power of 10. For example 5x10^3 = 5000. Powers is the number multiplied by itself. For example 5^3 = 5x5x5 = 125 I hope this helps!

I going to take my math GED at Central Ga technical college and they are not letting us use the calculator you have the one they are letting us is the calculator for finically use. They don’t have the fraction keys and other keys like that one has. ❤ please can you help me

I'm truly so confused, for hiset in Louisiana both times ive taken the test, onsite and virtual all they give is a basic cal, not a scientific cal with =out being programmable. I spoke to the test Center and PSI, I can't bring my own to testing site and I do not know how to do the intense portion of the test with a basic cal. Could you please do a video on this??

Can you do a video on how to use the casio-cfx260 scientific calculator. My teacher says the hi- set only uses a basic 5 function calculator. But the hi-set says we are allowed to only use the one listed.

I'm having issues using the calculator on the exam. whenever I open it it just gives me the instructions on how to use it , but then there is no other option to actually use it and type the equations and stuff . I've asked the moderators and they never seem to understand. can anyone help please?

I just took the hiset math and scored a 6. :( but the calculator on the computer did not look scientific at all. Or maybe I didn’t know how to transform it from basic to scientific, idk.

PearsonVUE doesn't let allow students to use calculator during exam time. No calculator for me during online at home but in the exam OnVue they're allowing the calculator in exam online not in desktop. ☹😕

I bought this calculator to practice but taking the test online at home next week. It’s a shame we can only use the calculator and scratch pad on the screen….just makes my anxiety worse. Math is the last subject to pass the HiSET. Just want to get this over with.

You can either type in 3.1415 or the Pi button. Just do whatever the test suggests.

While the calculator that I show is what is provided when you take the in-person HiSET test, the online test is very similar. I would make sure that you know how to do each of the techniques that I illustrate in this video so that when you take the HiSET math test, you will be well prepared. By the way, I have a math playlist with few videos where I take HiSET practice math tests and go over math techniques. I recommend you watch those videos. :)

With the math heist test you can use the calculator the entire test. They told us no at my school

Hmm... According to HiSET, you should be able to use the calculator on the test. However, GED only allows the calculator on half the test.

Umm we are not allowed to use a scientific calculator we have to use a basic calculator

This is not a scientific calculator. It is the only approved calculator for the GED and HiSET tests. :)
