Geddy and Alex on a stage and playing music together makes me very happy! Thank you for posting!!
@youropionmattersnot27 күн бұрын
Agreed. It appears they are breaking the glass on the last stage of grieving over Neal's passing. I so want to see them as Rush again but only if they are ready for that to happen without Neal. If I could wish that to reality it would be either Greg Bissonte or Mike Portnay. Please God not money hungry Dave Grohl.

In about 1978 at 10 years old, I discovered a song called "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" in a table-side jukebox at my family's favorite diner in New Jersey that played 2 songs for a quarter. Even though my mother said it was terribly depressing, it moved me in a way no song had before. I ended up playing it 3 more times before our meal was done. About 2 years later in the same diner jukebox I played a song from a group I'd never heard before called "Spirit of Radio". I was then hooked for life on music that would occupy the next several decades of my life. Of course, my mother hated that too. Thanks to Canada for filling my life with so much great music. RIP Mr. Lightfoot.

Fantastic! Geddy sounds great here. For years Geddy sang so many high notes, but it eventually was a big strain and didn’t sound as natural. This is perfect for Geddy! Soulful vocals that give me chills. More of this please! Of course Geddy has had an incredible long career so even if he doesn’t make another record again, I will always love the man and appreciate all the great music he’s made and performed for our pleasure.

You said it. Geddy and Alex keep stating they don't want to tour or do a reunion tour with another drummer, and we get that. But what I don't get is why they just don't do what The Beatles did later with their band; just make records without touring. Simple solution.

This is very close to Lightfoot's original recording, which differs quite a bit from a second, more widely known version by Gordon. The whole trippy vibe here comes from that original Lightfoot take. It's great to see Geddy and Alex, they are massive fans of Gordon Lightfoot. Unabashed about it. Lightfoot really informed Geddy's writing. Proving again Mr. Lightfoot's genius did connect with so many different musicians/songwriters and genres. Cute sidebar: Gordon used to call Geddy when Rush was still touring to ask how many shows Rush planned on doing -inevitably the much younger RUSH were outpaced by Gordon, who was in his late 70's. Also, Geddy said one of the biggest honors in his life was when Gordon called him to tell him he'd just seen the RUSH documentary and loved it.

All of these sound fucking awesome to me. The boys can do no wrong, and it's great to see them out doing what they do better than anyone.
