So Geeetech is now stocking Amazon with their filament. Is that a good thing? Well today I'm testing out their Wood PLA and for the most part, this one is a pass. Either way, check out the video and let me know what you think.

Geeetech filament is also available on Amazon.de. Have some non-wood-filled PLA filament from Geeetech and it prints nice.

Maybe the retraction must be tuned in differently for that? Those buggers look like too little or too slow. I mean if vasemode works (no retractions) that might be worth looking into. Maybe a temp tower will give you more answers. Happy Fathers day!

I did a bunch of tests. Odd thing is that the issues were not consistent.

Looks like you may be developing a clog from the wood particles... What size nozzle was it? Maybe try a . 5, or. 6 see if that father's day statue prints better.. Happy father's day buddy.

It happens even more with smaller models like that with short extrusions and lots of retractions. Like the wood particles build up and form temporary clogs. Makes for under extrusion and random extrusion.

Thanks! I use a 0.4mm nozzle with all wood filaments. I've had fantastic results from other brands, just not this one.

@@Fugatech3DPrinting I've seen it before, many are fine with .4, some, and especially the old ones all recommend a .5 and it makes a big difference. If you look in most how to guides, they recommend a bigger than average nozzle. I was doing a ton of wood a couple years ago. I was really surprised by the difference.

I have this filament and it snapped during a print! Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

you have to dry the filament spool, it usually crumbles when it is too humid or wet, it happens almost to every material. Also avoid curves from the spool to the extruder.

Did you think to check inconsistencies in filament diameter?

I wish I saw this video before buying this wood filament...so bad, clogging al the time...total waste of money and time

Agree.. Did some print tests and the filament clogged twice after a couple of prints.. Also it tangled three times and if I wasn't there to adjust it I would have wasted my time and energies on faulty prints. Not recommended.
