It’s amazing to me that Annabelle continues to tell X important details after he told her he’s an unwilling spy for someone that a new ally also said is her enemy… even after X also said it’s possible his sire can see and hear through him. She’s kinda helping the opposition by feeding him info and keeping this huge secret, after all those arguments about keeping secrets.

It's really a nice touch how Jason portrays them and really lends itself to the inner, personal quality of the Beast. Such as how, while both of them try to manipulate towards the same consequent, the Ventrue beast and Nosferatu beast use diametrically opposed arguments.

Reminds me of the time when my character was forced out during the day, fell into frenzy before falling into topor. He had to be saved by the ghouls of a malkavian acquaintance he contacted just in time before falling into frenzy. When he woke he was in a barrel, where they put him for transport during the day. Since then he is known as "(burned) barrel boy".... such fun times. Every Kindred should get the chance to experience the joy of a day time attack.

We have now seen every player lose control of the beast except Annabelle. I keep waiting for that one because it could be a great character building/changing moment, since she is still so innocent and does not seem to fully understand just how much of a monster she really is. If only they can keep LA from being destroy by a kindred civil war before it happens. :)

@@Mr._Matt All Ventrues are trying to be "the no nonsense man in charge" but there is massive variation in terms of both how taking a leadership position can look like as well as what is defined as . It's really a great roleplaying space to explore once you go past the stereotypes :).

I think Victor & Fiorenza are examples of what happens when Ventrue embrace humans with Malkavian like qualities. They become quirky but cool Ventrue.

Love the new effects, love the drama, RIP the Maharaja. Most importantly, love Nelli's Hat. It's wonderful to see the threat of the scourge emerge, Vanavar is most defiantly showing that Camerilla arrogance. He thinks he holds the city in his hand and so he's moving too slowly. Ontop of this, the excuse given of a gas leak is just sloppy. The fact it was preprepared and how quickly it came is sloppy, the excuse is overused and well, it demonstrates that he's playing the game but he's not got the edge that and up to speed thought younger licks have. Elders, am I right?

"Moments of levity" is the key phrase so many people miss when it comes to drama. You get too dark and the audience stops caring, you get too silly and the audience starts thinking about how it's supposed to be something that's taken seriously. That balance is so important for keeping things fresh.

Jason Carl knocked this season opener out of the park and the cast did magnificently as always. Mr. Carl played an amazing number of characters in this episode, and you can feel his "subtle joy" every time Victor texts Fiorenza since he can play her again. My only lingering question is why a Lasombra could be photographed? I'm gonna guess she's from some other clan like Brujah and has simply learned Oblivion/Obtenebration.

Really good episode. This one started to show the horror that being a vampire should be. Great with the sun scenes and Jasper being the monster he became. I had been out of the Masquerade for years now, but the players and story-teller really exceeded all my expectations. The politics adds so much depth what felt like one-dimensional stories of character development. The entire chronicle is fantastic.
