Yeh like the host said, Enigma is just as bad as LF if not worst because with lemons the animals eat and thrive fine, with Enigma they spin in circles, starve themselves to death and die over a LONG period of time. The same people who criticized me for LF sold hundreds of thousands of dollars of problematic enigmas to people in the early 2010s

Stop making excuses. Just because other people made major mistakes, does not excuse you to do the same. Stop riding your high-horse and just accept your mistakes and fix it! Every single response you make involves excuses. You will never accept your mistakes and it will never be fixed so I support you being canceled!

Yes, reptile shows need to focus a bit more on creating relationships with future customers. The last show I went to, I was very interested in getting one of my favorite snakes. The complete disinterest of the sellers and having to pull teeth to get more information on the animals had me backing off from a few tables, even though I really liked the animals displayed. It made the experience terrible. On the other hand, I had an amazing experience with a seller that specializes in geckos, specifically New Cal geckos. She was so amazing and readily gave them to me and my nieces/nephews to hold and gave so many great facts about them, I got home and deep dived on them. Months later, now I've reached out to them to purchase one of their beautiful garg geckos. Sellers in reptile shows need to learn to create an experience that will have buyers coming back, even if they don't buy in the moment. Create bridges and relationships, and that will bring you success.

This was a great foursome😂 Loved the convo about lemonfrost and spider, that definitely crossed my mind too, same with enigma. To the employment convo I def thought Yoshii was about to drop his OF or something😂 Just want to correct one thing so people aren't looking forward to a Frank interview. I actually have an interview with a recent ex-employee instead. There are a lot of claims Frank made in his first reply video that aren't really what it is, and that whole, now deleted, first response video of his was a lot of nonsense. The second one was alright though. But his claims like "I only bred lemonfrost for 2 seasons" isn't accurate. I know he has animals hatched in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 at the least. I'm with giving the opportunity to make changes as well so we'll see how it goes, but I think if it doesn't change he's going to end up with a lot more to answer for than what he is now. Anyway, great thought provoking episode especially on the hoarding topic too👊

if we hatched 1 animal in 2022 that doesnt mean we were actively working the project anymore, also leo eggs take 2 months to hatch so id need to see the date on there could have been from a pairing in late 2021. But I can assure you we havent bred any lemons in a long time

The problem with this theory of “he has an opportunity to change”, is that he’s had over 4 years to choose the correct road. People don’t change. Fact.

@@huffsherps7310 I'll say that people who want to change do but change can't be forced. I was a very different person 10 years ago than I am now so I try to afford that to everyone I can. That said, I've also given too much benefit of the doubt to allow for change that never came with others in the past and its burned me. Your position is definitely valid. You're a lot closer to this than I am and I definitely understand that sentiment and why you feel like that. It's a valid analysis and the odds are in your favor. Just hoping Frank turns a leaf while still not doubting the legitimacy of your experience with all the bs

@@tipping_scales fair enough. The problem is… in this age of “influencer craze”, all he actually has to do is change what he shows, not how he actually operates. We see it again and again in this hobby. Short ass memory of this community will prevail, and very few will be aware of all the shady shit he’s done for so very long. The list of things that the community (as a whole) have been calling him out on for years is ridiculously exhausting.

the original paper found 80% were found with tumors in the Macularius bloodline only. Not tested with other subspecies of leopard geckos. So even in macularius why were 20% not showing tumors and could outcrossing help? That was the question we sought out to pursue ONLY once we saw another breeder working with it for 3 years before us with success
@bluefrogcreations6132
@bluefrogcreations6132 6 ай бұрын
For my own edification: Why would outcrossing to other subspecies fix the cancer issue? As I understand it, the current scientific thinking is that Lemon Frost results from a mutation in SPINT1, and similar mutations in humans, mice, and zebra fish are all linked to cancer - possibly because the gene alters pigment cells and causes them to overproduce white. Am I correct, or is there more nuance?

I URGE you to ignore his request to come on the podcast. He’s simply searching for more reach, using controversial topics to garner attention. This guy is an absolute tool, that will say anything to save his ass. He will talk in circles about anything you pin him down on. He’s already had over 4 years to choose the right path in this hobby. People don’t change. Facts.

I've seen your videos before, I don't like how you handle your geckos and the small tubs are awful. I actually opted to not be able to see your videos even pop up on my timeline. "Do not reccomend channel". Just do better with your husbandry if you actually care for them and aren't just $$$ for you.

also you should use our outcrossed LF as a cover photo makes a much better representation of the outcrossing potential and the success its had, which BTW also applies to human cancer research and improving our understanding of how to mitigate that for all animals not just reptiles

just so you know, i didnt want to trail blaze anything. I bought into the project 3 years into its making, from another breeder who was having fantastic results so I thought this should be explored more, and then I became the face of it because I was the only gecko breeder on social media at the time talking about it and also one of a few in general growing and making leopard gecko specific content

Also Dr. Longua Guo who is the man behind the first LF research paper, afterwards said many time in this episode that outcrossing could provide a resolution and he was excited to think about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGnRY2t9qsmoitUsi=9Ex7jpBo7BYfTe7k

the leopard gecko hobby specifically has been very standoffish and judgmental to new comes so much so people cant even talk about controversial topics without getting bullied or threatened, which is why when we stepped onto the scene we blew up because we tackle the industry with a open non judgmental perspective welcoming all and not trying to be hypocritical. It is a breath of fresh air for the leo community which until that point had only one "voice" which was a very condemning one and unwelcoming to new people with new ideas.

You were not bullied. You were given sound advice and you never took it into consideration because you're on your high-horse. Stop playing the victim, accept the result of your choices and fix your ways. You even have the guts to highlight other people's mistakes in your channel yet you fail to fix your own.

You are so brave a total hero 🤣. 0 points all emotions because you dont like me & Tino.😂 Not to flex too hard but, part of why this podcast has been growing is because of US. Because WE brought conversations no one wants to talk about. Because we say things no one else will. Because we mess up & give people the opportunity to speak on those things. If it’s not for you thats completely fine.
@Runswithfathog

@@madbioreptiles first off it’s a YT comment no one was attempting bravery. Secondly to humble your flex a bit. You’re in a niche market where there’s a handful of notable creators and even less doing it well and consistently. So some growth should be expected, Good for you btw. However you did nothing to change my opinion on the two that speak and act so uneducated at the end of the couch. You’re not saying anything that’s intellectually valid. “Tubs are bad change my mind”, how about ball python’s statistically fail to thrive in bioactive enclosures…are tubs still the enemy??? Or are you just gonna make statements that aren’t based on facts? Your own homie wasn’t feeling that idea and it’s because he knows you’d get humiliated immediately. He did you a favor by not co-signing it when you brought it up. Again, poor takes and bad conversation skills, my opinion stands for the two baloney rings at the end of the couch.

@@Runswithfathog I am in a niche market but, I am not exactly part of that market. I do not sell anything. I just create content & have been for a while focusing more on Instagram where I have grown tremendously educating & entertaining people that are not in the niche making my circle of people a lot larger. Now, the reason we didn’t go into details with the tub topic is because we have done it multiple times before so I’ll bring the argument to you. I’ll start with being “uneducated” so that you understand where my point comes from. I am a zookeeper focusing on reptiles especially Crocodilians, Venomous Snakes, & Monitor Lizards. I am also a “herper” with some of the top herpers in the state of FL which often must submit data to FWC since they are not able to find certain species. Now Ball Pythons. “Statistically” Ball pythons do “better” in tubs is an opinion. There are no statistics & even less people understanding what the snake would need in a different environment. Why do tubs “work”? The tub is mimicking the smallest burrow possible for the species where it feels safe, lays its eggs, & eggs. What is it lacking? It is often lacking the space to perform natural behaviors like para scoping, which they often perform in the wild. Thats why on my rack videos & some of your own you can observe the snakes “trying to escape”, & bumping their heads. As soon as you open the enclosure they often periscope as soon as they can. It also lacks a form of exercise to be able to develop strong healthy muscles. In the wild Ball Pythons live in a burrow but, they move & change burrows around an area consistently. They have an entire ecosystem in which they travel through & even climb. How can you make anything else work? Just how we have done with any fossorial species (Yeah Ball Pythons are not even close to living underground like those more fossorial species). You must understand what the animal is, what the animal does, & what the animal needs. One of the most important things it needs is a mimic to the burrow. Somewhere they can hide, feel secure, have high humidity, & spend lots of time in. Then you must have an outside environment where it can perform naturally behaviors that they perform as instinct like Periscoping. This has been done with MULTIPLE fossorial species including Ball Pythons & it works. The racks are just an excuse to participate in breeding for morphs & have hundreds of animals to participate in the pyramid scheme.
