"ALL YOU CAN EAT" on the CARNIVAL MAGIC! - Cruise Ship Food

Cruise dining is served day and night, offering ship guests a multitude of delicious choices to choose from. And Carnival Magic® is no exception. the cruise dining options onboard Carnival Magic® are magical indeed.
Food is tasty, not fancy -- and there are plenty of free choices, particularly at lunch; you won't have to shell out extra money to appease picky eaters.
Carnival's steakhouse is one of the better values at sea; go on the first night and you'll get bargain bottles of wine.
Carnival's chef's table, usually offered once or twice per cruise, where you eat in the kitchen galley. For those wondering if there is a captain’s dinner on Carnival Magic, the answer is yes and no - it’s more of a toast delivered by the Captain in the Atrium before the first formal dinner of the cruise.
Northern Lights and Southern Lights (Decks 3, 4 and 5): The main restaurants on Carnival Magic are the primary spots for most dinners, and you can grab some other meals there too. The Carnival Magic main dining room menu is varied, with something for everyone. On elegant nights, Maine broiled lobster makes an appearance, although you can always pay a surcharge on other nights for steakhouse items (other extra fee options include filet mignon and New York strip loin). In addition to dinner, breakfast and lunch are also served in Southern Lights, and seating is open. Early eaters have a wide range of options, from cereals and baked goods to such hot entrees as omelets and pancakes. . For lunch, the dining room dishes out favorites like club sandwiches, Caesar salads, pasta dishes, and burgers. The popular Sea Day brunch takes place on sea days. Expect breakfast favorites like huevos rancheros and eggs Benedict, alongside pasta, salmon, and a Bloody Mary bar.
Lido Marketplace (Deck 10): It's the place to go if you're looking for a choice. From early in the morning you can grab breakfast. It turns over to lunch with a variety of hot and cold options such as sandwiches, carving stations, salad bars, and desserts. Late-night snacks are also available here.
Fans of Asian cuisine keep the Mongolian Wok busy during lunch.
Swirls station for frozen yogurt and soft-serve ice cream, available 24/7.
Ocean Plaza (Deck 5): Set up conveniently near the site of morning and afternoon trivia games, this counter performs a variety of functions. In the morning, it's the place for a light breakfast, with eggs, grits, cereal, and oatmeal available, as well as juice and coffee. At lunch, premade salads and other light bites are available.
Salad Bar (Deck 5): A made-to-order salad bar is set up every sea day in the space between the Ocean Cafe and the patio seating for the Red Frog Pub. Perhaps the best option for those who crave greens during the sailing. Wraps are also available.
Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse (Deck 5): Guy Fieri's second onboard outpost, the Carnival Magic’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, is located outside on the Promenade Deck; if you don't already know where it is, you might have some trouble finding it. It's worth seeking out, not only for the pork butt and andouille sausage but yummy sides like coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and Mac Daddy Mac and Cheese.
BlueIguana Cantina (Deck 10): The lunchtime tacos, taco salads, and burritos might be the main draw, but we love the main buffet for morning huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, and arepas. Don't forget to load up on toppings at BlueIguana Cantina's salsa bar (alas, guacamole free).
Guy's Burger Joint (Deck 10): On Carnival Magic, burgers and fries at Guy's Burger Joint are truly delicious. You can sink your teeth into a hot and juicy burger, fresh-off-the-grill! Customize your burger your way with an extensive list of toppings, and add a side of hand-cut and seasoned fries for the best burger experience at sea!
Pizzeria del Capitano (Deck 10): When the craving for pizza hits, you can head on over to the ship captain’s favorite cruise dining joint - Pizzeria del Capitano, a 24-hour pizza kitchen serving an assortment of made-to-order pizzas with fresh ingredients located in the aft near the Tides Bar, this pizzeria serves up hearty slices at all hours. Open 24/7.
Pasta Bar (Deck 11): One of the secrets of Carnival Magic is this free pasta bar, held during lunch in the Cucina del Capitano space.
Room Service: Complimentary continental breakfast delivered to the room in the morning, including pastries, bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, cereal, and fruit juices.
Seafood Shack: You can savor buckets of fried fish, steamed lobster, and peel ‘n’ eat shrimp in a quaint, New England-style setting. The Fried Seafood Platter gives you a bit of everything, while the Lobster Roll offers a real taste of New England.
The Carnival Deli: Enjoy favorites like a hot pastrami on rye, grilled Reuben, & more! Sandwiches and wraps are always hand-carved and served fresh.

I had been away from cruising for several years, but cruised with Carnival earlier this year. I thought the quality of the main dining room was lower than on previous cruises, but the food was otherwise better in almost every respect. I did notice a lack of bacon at breakfast. But for my $95 cruise fare, we ate quite well. lol

I go totally nuts on the food on the ship. I have to workout almost every day too on the ship to balance it out. The buffet is certainly magical on the Carnival Magic! You definitely wet my whistle with this video and i'm ready for my next cruise... 🍸🍹

Oh yes, it’s great! They have a great selection of cakes. Each and every day they are different (except a German chocolate cake) in which they have that every day. They also have each day a sugar-free option and gluten-free option. I am currently editing a video all about the cakes .... it’s going to be great! ☺️

Nice blog but why didn’t you include the ridiculous lines to get to food? So here are some hard facts. Food is good if you go to the specialty areas. Regular buffet was not great. Specialty areas only open between 12-2:30 lines are an hour long. Forget going to the wok place, seafood and burger place at same time if traveling with kids or family. By the time you finish on one line the other places are closing. Buffet closes by 3 pm as well. No 24 hr eating. Just pizza and ice cream. Breakfast was the worst. Scramble eggs are from a box. Anything outside of self serve was over an hour wait. Kitchen couldn’t keep up with 4000+ passengers. Most people go to restaurant, had a 40 minute wait and 1 hour to get food. At Breakfast time only one restaurant is serving. Very few people sanitize at entrances to go eat. They only have one sink at each entrance and one Hand sanitizing dispenser… But I have to say the person that did this video did do a great job presenting the food. But looks are not everything, taste and quality matter too. Just got off this ship today looks can be deceiving. Avoid Carnival magic departing from NYC.
