Holding down on the fingerprint sensor when unlocking, actually enables you to either scan a QR code or Google search on Xiaomi phones, which is quite convenient. Having it on the side means I never get to see the wallpaper, which I don't really like.

I'll agree with that, but I do still think that the benefits of having a capacitive sensor built into the power button outweigh that one useful thing of having it in the display. But considering how cheap capacitive sensors are, there's really no reason they can't give us both.

I pulled the trigger on this last week. Spent a month researching phones and this went on sale so I scooped it up. Going to replace my Mi Max III as my daily driver. Man, I love that phone. Still holding on and battery life is still amazing. Just getting a bit slow and custom roms aren't being made anymore for it as far as I know.

Seems like most 888 chips are prone to overheating. Saw some multiple Antitu tests where by second or third test 888 performance throttled back due to overheating below performance levels of 870 and 865 that maintained their top scores. While a very interesting phone, particularly audio, phone hump doesn't work for me, particularly since I don't take selfies, and zoom feature is overhyped. Cheers

Why are so many people so ready to play down the screen on the back? If you don't like it you don't like it but everyone I know puts their phone face down. I have always thought it was weird but even cases put raised edges so you can put your phone face down. Go to a bar, restaurant, or just look at people at work on their break and their phone will be face down. It's awkward having your phone face up I guess but come on that's what everyone does. Now you get a display for notifications without needing to pick your phone up and people are now complaining? I just don't get it.

Im not playing it down! It's a great feature and it does what Xiaomi wanted it to do. Me personally though, I never lay my phone face down. As a tech reviewer too, I always look at certain ways to improve something and adding the video capability, which I am 100% sure Xiaomi will, would make it even better than what it is now! :)

I love the under display fp sensor because I can unlock it with actually having to pick the phone up. Comes in handy when I'm just gonna watch a quick vid while I'm on my lunch break with my phone on the table.

Thanks for the video. Regarding the under screen fingerprint scanner… it’s very simple… try unlocking a fear mounted or poet button scanner without picking your phone up (screen up)…. Get it now?

How is the 4G and 5G signal reception after you changed from chinese to global rom ? I got a chinese one and the mobile data is not as fast as it should be for a United Kingdom carrier. For the temperature and battery life, just wait MIUI 12.5, MIUI 12.0.6 is just trash :) Also, the video on the rear screen is coming, it's confirmed :) Miui 12.5 also improves the photo quality by A LOT

Its only 2 weeks and i already thinking to sell my s21u🤣 crappy video on lowlight, its embrassing when recording it with my friends at night, then we decide to use other phone(my friend's huawei which 2-3 years old phone) to record since its too crappy on my s21u. Another thing that really turn me off about this phone is freakin weak signal reception. Phone calls keep going into voice message and mobile data is super slow when in my house, never ever have this problem with my older phones. Even when using wifi, i have to be close to the modem🥴

To be fair mate, it's a tough one lol. Both have excellent camera setup and performance. The only reason I would sell the S21 Ultra and get the Mi 11 Ultra is because of the way it looks, the amazing design. If you sold the Mi11 and got the S21 Ultra, then you answered your own question. But I am guessing you are now bored of the S21 Ultra and want some Mi11 action haha!

Since already used both of these phones, both almost similar. For photos, s21u has slight edge on macro, zoom, front camera selfie, while mi11u has slight edge on night shots. While for video, mi11u surely better especially on low light. S21u video at night just like cheap phones, lot of noise.

It little confusing to select a mobile I have shortlisted 2 phone below Both OnePlus 9 pro and Mi 11 Ultra priced same in india 70,000 INR. Performance wise both phone will be top and together as it was SD-888 The main battle between this phone is camera. Please advise me which one I should prefer Which is having better all rounder camera. Commonly Xiaomi is not considered as a premium smartphone brand in india But OnePlus got a name as premium brand Please advise me which one I should buy. Some key points: I am very heavy user Camera is my 1st priority Also root user Currently using Xiaomi mobile for 5 years. I don't care about design, weight, build Display type value for money only not that much cared And overall my personal opinion is Mi 11 Ultra is better reason because it's priced 70k they offering secondary display more 5g bands compared to OnePlus. OnePlus now having partnership with hasselblad in camera but only in colour tuning not in hardware level. For me personally OnePlus 9 pro is not best upgrade from 8 pro. The overheating issue is a no-no for me otherwise I'd buy it, as much as this is a superb looking device. It sounds like a Samsung Galaxy S3 type of overheating, and that mo-fo near burned my thigh off at times whilst in my pocket.

I've got the mi 9 (until my Mi11 ultra comes next week) and if never go back to a phone without an under screen fingerprint reader. To have my phone secure but unlocked before I even take it out of my pocket is better than any kind of face recognition

I like the under screen finger print scanner because I like using my thumb to unlock so that rules out the back, never had one on the side though so I imagine that would work fine too
