“We Mandalorians have a saying. A warrior who doesn't hope for battle has no hope during battle.” - Canderous Ordo (Mandalore The Preserver) Best Mando’ade Clan, no I’m not at all biased

Let’s be honest folks without Clan Ordo the Mandalorians would have been nothing, but a bad memory for the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order, and not even Clan Vizela can compare to the challenges that Clan Ordo had to handle in reuniting the Broken and Shattered Mandalorians people across the Galaxy, where they couldn’t even unite their people on a single world from a peaceful government and an entire criminal underworld and disgrace Sith Lord and Sith Apprentice.

Clan Ordo reunited the Mandalorians, Clan Vizsla divided them. I hope in the new canon, the two Clans would be sworn enemies.

It’s my belief that the Jedi and the Mandalorians are destined for each other, not as rivals, but as allies. The Jedi have strengths, connections and more the warriors of Mandalore do not, and vice-versa. They are strong separate, but if they somehow came together under a true, lasting alliance, they can be invincible.

Canderous will always be the best Mandalorian ever, and Clan Ordo the greatest clan ever. Jedi and Mandalorians always end up as the best of bros when it comes to allying together, even if it is mostly out of necessity. Canderous singlehandedly turned the Mandalorians from a bunch of clans of marauders into a fighting force even the Sith could not hope to stand against. And what did he get for his badassery? A legendary assault tank bearing his own name. I love the Mandalorians, their history is rich, amazing, badass, yet tragic and heartbreaking. They're all badass warriors with kickass armor, and they fight to the bitter end against anyone who opposes them, all while adhearing to honor and loyalty. I hope the Mandalorians can rise again in the TV series, and become one of the greatest faction in all of Star Wars, like they were millenia ago.

The Exile was the first Jedi to finally get the Mandalorians fighting alongside the Republic against the Sith Triumvirate since the Great Sith War. The Mandalorians were basically hiding on Dxun & rebuilding without the Republic knowing, but because The Exile had proved herself worthy to Mandalore, he decided to travel with her & lend support when needed.

@TheRevanchrist Жыл бұрын
Skeptical about a "direct descendant", considering how some mandalorian clans are preserved through adoptions rather than bloodlines. But an heir to his legacy, that would be cool to see.

Mandalorian Excision was one hell of a backstab, but it ALSO makes sense that there's no way ANYBODY would be signing the Ruusan Reformation's military limits if the Mandalorians WEREN'T wiped out.
@TheRevanchrist Жыл бұрын
While I doubt the Mandalorians after Mand'alor the Uniter were on any friendly terms with the Republic and Jedi before the Excision, it was a low blow. Considering how on the Mandalorian narrative, it was a preemptive strike by the GR to ensure no challengers to the GR's authority and influence in the Outer Rim. Not a threat, a challenge, as in giving the resource rich outer rim an alternative faction to join other than the GR.

I would say the Mandalorians were more freely decided when they sided with the Jedi knowing they were more honorable than the Sith. I would say in most circumstances the Mandalorians were reluctant allies when siding with the Sith and only served them because they were defeated and had to follow a code of honor to serve the ones who defeated them. We see the same attitude during the death watch where they sided with Darth Maul but never really trusted him from the start. It’s really hard to group all Mandalorians as good or bad because they were not an organization like the Jedi order but a society that had many factions that were on every side throughout galactic history.

Alas it's right there in the Resol'nare. They have to obey their Mandalore, and for the period leading up to, and including pre-Zakuul SWtOR, they had a pro-Sith Mandalore... though some still held to Canderous' oath and sided with the Jedi

Whether it be in Star Wars or anything real or imagined, there will always be a need for a group like the Mandalorians. As long as there are sentient beings and even just the potential for misunderstanding between them, conflict, combat, and war will be inevitable - maybe not a full-on constant of life like in a failed state/nation, but certainly a part of life that is bound to happen at some point. Whether this part of life is sad or jovial, accepted or rejected, loved or hated depends on the viewer - the whole beauty-beholder thing. That said, groups like the Mandalorians need ones like the Jedi, not simply as rivals (though they certainly can be rivials) but as a balance to them, something to get them to think outside of the box, and this is something that would work both ways. Both can embody the saying of "If you want peace, prepare for war," but the chosen approach(es) would likely differ greatly. Mandalorians would, in many ways, be the ideal soldiers: always ready to fight, ready to defend what is theirs, willing to face quite possibly any threat. Their seeking of mastery of combat and conflict makes them one of those that most opponents would not desire to face off agsinst, not individually and certainly not in force. They could be described as the Star Wars embodiment of Sun Tzu's Art of War. Such a group, for arguably many reasons, some of which were mentioned above, could and likely would deserve respect... but those same reasons can also set them up for catastrophic failure. As for the earlier Sun Tzu comparison, note that Sun Tzu arose during a time of great tribulation for his nation (I know "nation" is a modern term and not the most accurate to use, but it fits the role here), and even with what he saw and regularly proved, it was not enough to protect or save his nation. When one seeks mastery of combat and conflict (the two are not truly interchangeable, but they are intertwined), it often breeds a desire for combat and conflict that they not only seek such out, but even cause them; it engenders a quite possibly overwhelming desire for war. It also instills patterns in the group, from the personal to the tactical to the strategic to the institutional. No matter what forms those patterns take, the fact that there is such means someone can find them and ultimately exploit them. That is how you get manipulation and destruction from the Sith and then from Revan (he may have effectively resurrected the Mandalorians through Canderous, but he still manipulated and destroyed them, just for reasons and goals different from the Sith). From culture to war tactics and strategies, if there is a pattern, there is a vulnerability, and from that can - and likely will - come total destruction from outside forces. This is what makes the Jedi such an excellent balance for the Mandalorians. The Jedi also understand that combat and conflict will be inevitable at times, and they regularly train for it as well. However, because they generally do not seek out or cause them like Mandalorians might do (have to be fair and not claim that either always do what they are reputed to do), they not only reduce unnecessary losses, but they also open other avenues to ending combat, conflict, and war. By reputation, a Mandalorian would only see or say such was resolved over the steam of a possibly overheated blaster barrel, whereas a Jedi would stlee or say such was resolved from behind the glow of a lightsaber blade... or the manipulation of the Force... or the signature of a pen... or the grasp of a handshake. The Jedi ultimately has more options, and because they generally do not cause conflict, at least not intentionally, they also have more support - or in war terms, more reinforcements - towards accomplishing their objectives and goals, whereas the Mandalorians are more likely to be left with no reinforcements. However, while the Jedi would seek to prevent unnecessary losses, which would typically be desired in a society, this can and does backfire at times. Aversion to war, however preferably it might be, can generate something resembling apathy or even full-on apathy. This is what drove Jedi like Revan to action against the Mandalorians, and it is possible that if not for him and the other Jedi who joined him, the Republic would have abandoned the Jedi in response to the engendered perception of the Jedi abandoning the Republic to the Mandalorians - in short, Revan could very well have inadvertently saved the Jedi from the self-destruction of their reluctance to aid the Republic in its time of crisis as he went to save the Republic. In many ways, the Mandalorians were the kick in the rear that the Jedi needed for their own survival (and not in the sense of political/societal gratitude). Of course, this is a mostly philosophical take on this. It is certainly possible to delve into how both groups' cultures and principles can lead to certain benefits...and detriments, particularly in their chosen tactics and strategies, but doing so now would make this even longer than it already is.

Clan Ordo Chieftain: Hmm. That's rich coming from someone who had betrayed their blood. Satine may have been naïve, but her forsaking the creed was nothing compared to what the Death Watch did to taint it. It was my clan that reunited the Mandalorians in their darkest hour, an attempt Tarre Vizsla sought to repeat in our people's time of Greatest need, only for his successors to use the Darksaber, which lead to it's division. Every since our honor had been stained by Clan Vizsla. I've haven't been told anything, I observed the events that occurred perfectly, the Mandalorians are even more scattered than they've ever been since the end of the Mandalorian Wars.

A Mandalorian faction that saw the light. The first of many it seems. Along with some like Fett that lived long enough a villain, or mostly a villain to see themselves turn into mostly a hero... That's basically what THIS entire faction seemed to do an experience. Not to mention from Ordos perspective least the Jedi let them live. Just like he said himself the Sith are an was vicious at this time an cruel AF. They'd totally enslave or genocide them. An the Jedi proved often enough to be the next best warrior diplomats next to the Mandalorians being at times equal parts both worthy enemies and allies to the Mandalorian people for the handful of times the Mandos an Jedi/Republic in this Era(s) elected to fight side by side as allies

For all their strength the Mandolorians warmongering and war crimes did nothing but earn them enemies and ally’s that hated them as much as their enemies. No one to rely on and no one to defend them.
