Kenny is one of my favorite artists. Here are a few more suggestions: * "She Believes in Me" * "You Can't Make Old Friends" ( with Dolly) * "We've Got Tonight" (with Dolly) *"Ruby" * "Lucille" ** "Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In"...(Kenny Rogers and The First Edition.....this is the group Kenny was part of before he went solo) ****You can't do Kenny without watching the video of Kenny and Lionel Richie singing * "Lady" together. (30 yrs. After Lady came out Kenny and Lionel came together at a concert and it was a magical moment. You must watch the video from the beginning where Kenny tells the story on how he asked Lionel to write a song for him) ....It's a funny and true story. Thank you for coming back to Kenny.

I have a Kenny Rogers song for you. Back in the late 60's before Kenny launched his solo career he was part of a group called The First Edition, they had a couple of hits one was Just Dropped In and the one I'm recommending is Ruby ( Don't Take Your Love To Town). Being the late 60's most believe the song was about a Viet Nam vet but the song was written by Mel Tillis (whose daughter Pam Tillis was a 90's country star) about a Korean War vet. Very moving song about what far too many of our returning heroes went through.
@tnpredsgal493 Жыл бұрын
If you haven’t done this one yet, check out his duet with Sheena Easton: "We've Got Tonight." I recommend the live version. He recorded the song with Sheena, but there's also a live version where he sings it with Dolly. The Dolly version is worth a watch, but I recommend checking out the original with Sheena first. Happy listening!

Kenny was born in my hometown which is Houston, he started off in the late 50s with a local band , he did some Jazz and joined The New Christy Minstrels. His first major hit was not country, but a psychedelic rock song called Just Dropped In which peaked at number five. Later on he drifted into country where he became a legend. You need to react to Just Dropped in then Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town.
