That double chopper arrangement would have really been a handful to operate for everyone!

Glad you enjoyed! It's getting difficult to find good tunes for this & they're running low. May have to resort to Christmas tunes. 🎄😂

Had a chance several years ago to buy a pull type chopper like the one behind that super 88. Was a a large going out of business auction at a junkyard. Thing was completely out of place. Don’t know where they had been storing it but it looked like it had been kept in a vaccine chamber. 99% of the paint still on it. Still had all the silk screening on it. Still had the original Goodyear diamond side implement tires on it and they were holding air. Even still had most of the paint inside the blower housing so I’m not sure it was even ever used and if it was, it wasn’t used much. Had a single row corn head and a pickup head for it. I was fresh out of college and barely had a dime to my name at that point and I was there after a 7 bottom Oliver plow. Didn’t have the money to buy both so I had to let the chopper go. Only sold for 150 bucks and it went to scrap. Still makes me want to throw up every time I think about it.

Had something similar happen. Missed out on a SP MM combine with the round grain tank & it was hydro. The old couple that owned it didn't think it was worth anyone's time or trouble & scrapped it. A week later, the junk man was telling me about it when I took a load of scrap. Missed out on a couple IH freezers too.

I remember we had a special grinder mounted on the bench in dads shop to sharpen the cutter knives for the self -propelled chopper that grandpa had. We used it until 1973. It was probably the only one in washtenaw county ,michigan and then in 1969 we moved it to branch county,michigan to chop silage for dairy cows.

Another awesome installment. First time I've ever seen a pull type behind a self propelled. 4 rows , that probably was the talk of the town! Was that pull type a Papec?

Glad you enjoyed!! Just the sound of that outfit working must have been impressive. The pull type looks to be New Holland.

@@EnergyTRE It happens. Fairly certain I got docked after a vid went from shared revenue to none. There was some money missing from my earnings after that. 🤔

Do you think you could find any videos on the gehl cb1040 front mounted forage harvester? It's main design was for the Ford and versatile bidirectional tractors
@ikonseesmrno73007 ай бұрын
Haven't seen anything. Most likely that would have been in VHS & I've been through all the tapes donated from Gehl. Can't say for certain if they sent all of them though. Gehl also made a 6000 & 6600 that mounted on the front of larger 2WD tractors. No vid for that either.
