This is the third ride in a series of rides we did on a cruise from Iceland to London. Geiranger Norway is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Fjord itself has been designated a UNESCO World heritage site. The high granite cliffs and proximity to glaciers provide waterfall views in every direction.
On this ride we took the hop on hop off bus from the port up to the Geiranger rock view point. So this is a downhill ride on the only road into Geiranger. The grade is 10% or more with plenty of switchbacks. The road is shared with tour buses, drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. Tour buses have the right of way going up the mountain as you will see, but it's safe and the views are spectacular. The temps were cool in the 50's, but the clouds broke and we had plenty of sunshine during this ride on September 10th 2024.
This video is set up in a first person view format. So it's just like you're there riding along. Hop on your stationary bike, turn the volume down (or not), get some exercise, and enjoy the scenery. Our pace was a rolling 15 mph.
